Fair enough. The reality of the perpetual ineptitude that is the Jets settled in after the Miami and Cleveland games. At least it's caused me to take greater interest in the two fantasy leagues I'm in. I was happy to get a couple of Jets late, Quincy in one, Bilal in the other. So much for that. Shit just keeps happening. In fact, the most positive Jets experience I've had this year is I didn't see the Buffalo game. I had thought it was the Lions game, but after a few weeks it became obvious that was simply a case of Detroit being Godawful that game, and subsequently all joy was lost. And lately I've come to fear Sam will move on before the team can develop any kind of O-line. Who'd want to come to play in this perpetual shit storm anyway? Everyone who's anyone knows the front office is a gong show. A friend keeps telling me the Jets should go after Leveon Bell. I'm thinking if they don't get him that's a net win. Isn't there enough aggravation already in-house? The only real sun beam poking through is the possibility that Bowles will finally be gone. But what do I know? I was stunned when they kept him around after 2016, let alone last year. So I'll watch if they're on, and won't care if they're not. And there's always plan B: the Rams, although I'm still keeping my Joe Namath throwback for Super Sunday.
Be flying into Newark. If they have the game on the flight I might watch it. Better than screaming babys. If it costs more than $2.00 I'll sleep or read a book.
Darnold in pads and practicing today, would be nice to see the kid out there Sunday but not sure I even want him to play.
I get your point, but he was signed to play, and he needs to play. And I'm pretty sure he wants to play. But I don't think he should unless he's 100% We all gain if he plays healthy. We gain nothing by exposing him to unnecessary risk.
Darnold needs to play. Period. Every game that we trot McCown out there, as much as I like him, is a complete waste of time.
The Titans are a team capable of beating the NE Pats...what else do you wanna know about Sunday? hehe
It's hard to think of a run of 5 games that matter as little as these. Even in some miracle bizzare universe we run the table and finish 8-8 with McCown or Darnold, then for me Bowles and Mike still need to go. But also we don't need to lose them all for the draft because we have a QB. What i see happening is us finishing 4-12 (win in Buffalo) and then both of them going and Bruce Arians taking over next season under a new GM. The other name would be Jack del rio, had a good run with Oakland, who are as much of a mess as us. As for GM candidates, Could we look at a younger GM like an ex-pro like Elway or Lynch have done? Working with an experienced coach might help. As for offensive co-ordinator, the one Jacksonville have just fired might be worth a look? Managed to come up with schemes to make Bortles look good (who is dreadful) last year, if you give him a talent like Darnold?? Also he would keep our running game going. Apart from that then you look to follow the Matt Nagy, Sean Mcvay model and get a 'QB whisperer'. (Hate that phrase). But maybe that is why Del Rio may work as did great with Carr at Oakland. I am looking to the future as the Jets will again spoil my Sunday night (UK time). Titans 34 Jets 13. I think we looked good at times against the Pats, on the road is different and i sense more of a bills performance coming. Detroit seems like it was a decade ago. Another terrible Jets season.
Amid the Jeremy Bates and Spencer Long vitriol, Bilal Powell's injury is a pretty underrated factor as to why our offense has been complete crap recently. It wasn't great to begin with but it's been a shitshow ever since he got IR'd. Powell probably has the highest football IQ among our skill position players, his absence has really tanked this offense.
Rishard Matthews revenge game . Has even been inactive since he was signed!? Srs question. Haven't noticed.
Darnold is fully healthy it seems. He should get the start but I feel our o-line will get him killed. Maybe start McCown and if it looks like the O-line is having one of its better days...put in Darnold. If McCown is getting killed...leave him in and spare Sam
Such as it was. Everything just fell apart and completely unraveled. Again, such as it was. I see it more as a confluence of bad events. Oh, and Spencer Long and shit play-calling.
The real players would have won if it wasn't for all those false start penalties. Also, Woody Johnson shouldn't have been allowed to kick the winning FG for the dummies. He has a real human spleen and growing fingernails. Not fair!
Man that's a tough one. How many babies? Are they really full-out screaming or just, like, kind of cranky?
