Even if we win this game.... Like it or not this is a rebuilding team, and we have to start somewhere... We had some players emerge like Bryan Thomas, Jerricho Cotchery, Leon, and Cedric We had some great wins We had some rough losses Regardless of how they performed today, I trust Mangini and think he has a good plan for the future... A couple more good drafts, and who knows? We may finally have that superbowl team we have been waiting for..
I will be very dissapointed if we miss the playoffs, but I never dreamed they'd do as well as they've done this year. I see big things happening for this team in the future, maybe as early as next season if we draft well and get some good pickups in FA.
If we are lucky, we go 10-6 and somehow get lucky to make it in the playoffs. But that game at Miami looks to be like a loss. Then again we play them tough so...
well everyone and theyre mother was writing off this game as a W..so i guess if miami looks like a loss we're in good shape
I think Minn will give us fits....lets hope that Chester Taylor decides to not play for a 2nd straight week. If so, we can maybe beat that team. MAYBE. And Oakland we should beat since Fargas isnt too intimidating. And Brooks makes more turnovers then anybody. Its that Miami game...we need to somehow make a statement then and there. Will we do it? I dont know. Must we do it? Hell yes.
this is pretty much exactly how i feel. i thought we would win maybe 6 or 7 games, tops. i trust mangini. i don't want to start my posting career as one of those people who always compares mangini to herm, but if herm had this team i don't think so many of us would have this somewhat positive attitude.
Well i said 8-8 9-7 was good enough... but seeing what we were capable of makes me want much more from the team
Its a shame that A 7-6 record in the NFC has you at 5th place for a wildcard spot while in the AFC you get left out in the cold.
Let's take a deep breath and re evaluate the playoff picture We weren't the only team to suffer a crippling loss today, Herms boys in KC went down in Jets fashion to Baltimore and it looks like Denver will do the same to SD (34-20 chargers with 8 minutes left) The fucking Jaguars beat the lazy good for nothing colts, and the Bengals got a gimme with against the worthless Raiders. Both teams are in the drivers seat at 8-5. Holding the 2 wild cards Jaguars 8-5 (Tennessee, New England, KC) Bengals 8-5 (Indy, Denver, Pittsburgh) ----------- Jets 7-6 (Vikings, Fish, Oakland) Chiefs 7-6 (San Diego, Oakland, Jax) Broncos 7-6 (Arz, Cincy, San Fran) Just glancing at things, either Cincy or Jax need to lose to of 3, while we win out and everyone below us only wins 2 games maximum. I have no idea what kind of tie breakers it would set up if we tie Cincy at 10-6, though I'm pretty sure we'd lose a tiebreaker to Jacksonville because of 41-0. I think the Bengals could easily lose two of 3, Indy has to be ready to play one of these weeks, and Pittsburgh could knock them off since they hate them. But what if one of the teams below us run the tables too? too many wacky scenarios...but this thing is clear. WE MUST WIN OUT AND PRAY!!! We can beat Minnesota, we always play well against the Vikes for some reason. They beat the lions today, meh, doesn't really matter. Dolphins will be a home game for us, they'll be so revved up to beat us. That could be impossible. Then at home against the Raiders, I fell if we need this game, we can beat them. But will it matter?
Its our 5th conference loss though... makes it very tough. Impossible? definitely not, but EXTREMELY difficult... And we lost the outside shot at the division.
Im not disappointed if we dont make the playoffs, we have done way better then everybody except God himself would have anticipated. Im proud of this team, with the exception of a couple games. We play with intensity, and show improvement from game to game. How can you not be happy with that ?
Tie with Cincy/Jax/NYJ 3 for 2 spots goes to Cincy/JAX as Cincy/JAX Strength of Victory is much higher than ours. Cincy/NYJ tie would go to Cincy even if Cincy loses to Indy, because they'd be 3-2 against like common opponents, and we'd be 2-3. NYJ/JAX tie is a L for us.
We still have the easiest schedule sure, but we need to win our own games before we rely on others to do it for us.
You are right, but also wrong. If the Bengals and Jets both go 10-6, the Bengals would win the tiebreaker based on a better conference record.
