Fatukasi really stood out to me in the preseason games this year. He's progressing nicely, I'm not surprised to see him getting more snaps. Looking like a nice late value.
Both him & undrafted Kyle Phillips from Tennessee are doing well as depth role players. I think we are good for the DL for now. ATTN: NYJ FO ----- please concentrate on other positions in the upcoming draft.
yup and so does phillips as an UDFA those 2 playing well is why leo was expendable plus we needed the cap room. and we have Q williams as well and mclendon locked in for next year
should be a heavy offensive draft. i know people want an edge but I don't see it happening. we need o-line and CB mostly. plus another WR. we'll likely resign jenkins and run with copeland, langi, willis, and basham on the outside for 2020 and see if any of them look like viable starters
that kind of thinking is why we drafted leo and q williams lol I'd rather have an all world LT protecting sam then a edge rusher killing the other teams QB while ours gets killed.
hahah no definitely not an interior lineman? Have you watched Young play? He is playing better than either Bosa did at OSU. You can get an O lineman in other spots as well.
literally the same thing mac said that everyone bitched about. We need to do like we did in 2004 and solidfy the o-line. we drafted brick and mangold and our o-line was great for nearly a decade because of it. We have a young QB we need to protect him. offense is a much bigger priority. no way we should draft defense in the 1st round. regardless of how "can't miss" of a prospect it is. we have 4 picks in the 1st 3 rounds. we should get 2 lineman and a WR and a CB. maybe we can land an edge in free agency
you can never get an EDGE in FA unless you pay mightily. You can pick Young and still get 2 O lineman and a CB. WR? meh, FA is chock full o' WRs
same goes for a franchise LT. giants overpaid a ton for soldier who isn't playing well. we can always get a guy for a year or 2 and draft one in 2021. just last year houston an shaq barrett both signed as free agents and are legit edge rushers. not to mention barr and smith. when was the last time you had multiple good LTs on the market? there are going to be a good crop of free agent ones this year as well. the WR class is weak as hell this year in free agency. all WR3-5 types. Nobody worth it as a starter. Your commens sound more like guesses then someone who actually has looked at it all
As much as people want an edge in the draft, - there are actually options in FA w/2nd tier level players. Shaq Barrett from TB will be available, but if he keeps playing like he has the first half, - he'll be out of our price range. Vic Beasley & Kyler Fackrell are 2 edge rushers I have my eye on.
Thats true too.......again depending on where the Jets pick, if Young is htere he will be a far far better prospect than whoever teh Tackle left will be....my .02
yeah barrett is on fire and was a FA last year and signed a 1 year 4 million dollar prove it deal and he's proving it. He's gonna get paid heavily. probably in the 17mil/yr range. as far as other edge rushers go some possibilities if they don't get resigned are clowney, von miller, fowler, ziggy, quinn, mercilus, beasley, mingo, JPP, lawson, Ngakoue it's a pretty good offseason to improve the pass rush in FA. even we don't spend big on a young stud there are some good stop gaps in there for a year or 2.
