Who would have thought we would be playing Christmas night for what probably will be our season. And to spice it up a bit its against the rival Dolphins. I am going to sit down after a eating and drinking a ton a really enjoy this game. It's going to be a battle because you know Miami wants to be spoilers especially on national TV. If we pull this one out though i can't see us missing the playoffs. This is what December is all about. Hopefully all us Jet fans will get big emphatic W as a Christmas gift and a trip to the postseason.
Whether we make the playoffs or not, playing meaningful football this time of year is a big deal and a major treat. It's definitely a Christmas present...I didn't think I'd care right about now!
this is awesome..and speaking of gifts...I just recieved a great leather Jets jacket for Christmas ( those are INCREDIBLY Hard to find down here ) so thanks to Sandi!
Beating the Dolphins on National TV to keep us in the playoff race would be a great Christmas present. And then clinching a playoff spot at home against the Raiders would be a great way to wrap up 2006. But one step at a time.
For all of our rookies, this is essentially a playoff game. They get to play under the lights in a game televised across the country. It'll probably have higher ratings, in fact, than some of the wild card games. This is the exposure they need and a game that can get them beyond their rookie jitters and it'll go a long way toward them maturing into what we need them to be beginning in September, 2007. If it so happens that this game helps us earn a wild card birth, so much the better.
Hopefully, this Christmas game turns out to be different than when we played on Christmas Eve in 2000. We were killing the Ravens early on, The house was full of people and Vinny and the special teams killed us. That ruined Christmas for sure!
The fins are hard to figure out. One week they beat the Pats and the following week they loose to the Bills, by the same exact score. I hope the fins go on an 18 game loosing streak. I'm tired of hearing about the undefeated season . Great accomplishment, but, that was so long ago.
