We cant beat anyone....If we had Crowder,Bell, and Mims I would give us a chance in some games. But without them its a wrap. And im dying to know what we have with Mims what is he going to be...I hope its not another injury thing every 2 weeks.
I am able to handle it well emotionally as I usually laugh at how terrible we are and end up being more into the later games when real football teams play. For me I was most animated when we fielded competitive teams from 1999-2010. The heartbreaking losses when I felt the team could win the big one drove me nuts. Now it’s like looking forward to the draft every year. Draft day has become my Super Bowl sadly.
I picked the right year to start a podcast focused on the entire NFL. It draws my attention away from the Jets suckage for the most part. A lot of games to watch.
I don’t know about apathetic, but some of my friends and workers are sympathetic for me. Lol “Oh my god, what wrong with the Jets?”, “is Gase that bad?”, “what happened to the defense?” “ Man it must suck watching blowouts?” Thanks for the reminder.... I will say this, I’ve long for the days of offensive power Despite losing, missing the Jets’ ken O’Brien, Wesley Walker, Mickey Shuler, Freeman McNeil days and Curtis Martin’s ground and pound Days. Sigh
I hear you. The problem is Jets fans are so conditioned to seeing shit that the smallest glimmer of hope gets turned into Vince Lombardi.
Next 3 games are probably going to be on in the background as I have next to no interest in the teams we're playing but then we get a potential viewing of Herbert before we get Mahomes sandwiched in between the battle for the division between the Jills and Patsies then the double header for the wooden spoon against Fitz or maybe even Tua. So that's a good 5 game slate of watchable games for a football fan before we get to visit a potential MVP candidate in Wilson.
Douglas is encouraging because he's done several things our last three GM's have not done. But he also hasn't done a single spectacular thing. It's really too early to tell especially when you analyze the moves and can see that this is a multi year rebuild. At the same time, we should've brought back Robby Anderson and added another player on the front seven. The talent gap in those two spots is excruciatingly bad.
You're free to think that. Hard to point the finger at a guy who walked in with an already existing Head Coach and one who drafted the top rated offensive lineman in the NFL in his rookie year. Not to mention he stock piled 10 picks in next years draft including two first round picks. All in his first year as GM. I think things are headed in the right direction. Just gotta' get rid of Adam Gase
Honestly thank god for Redzone. I don't post much during the year because I just don't have enough free time to watch this team be one of the worst in the league every year. Part of the reason we're all huge Jets fans is because we love the game. You can still love the game watching other teams. Maybe it's me getting older, fantasy football, or this team being terrible, but more and more I'm a fan of players. Not everyone can do it and I understand that. If you can't, pick up a hobby to do Sundays, do work around the house, see friends or family, see anything but this team. We all deserve better than the joke this team has become.
The league lost me as much as the Jets lost me. I don’t even care about the politics nonsense. It’s just so much player movement. No team identity. It has become like fantasy football. Roster is thrown together. Every play is a-wing-and-a-prayer. It’s just so bland.
I see the point, but it's less like that for the good franchises. It just seems like that because the Jets have about 4 guys they've drafted starting and most teams have 15-16.
A hard salary cap makes it impossible to keep every player. Some players are more replaceable than others.
I have pretty much stopped caring at this point. I didn't order the football package this year for the first time in 20 years. This team stinks!
Wow I just read the Jets are 11.5 points underdogs against a nothing special Colts team. To think if the Jets were to win tomorrow it would go down as one of the biggest upsets in the past 10 years(?) again against a nothing special Colts team. It's mindblowing. I'm leaning towards going on the family outing.
You think Patriots fans are complaining? Seriously. Adapt or die. Adapt and it'll be fun to watch but the Jets never seem to adapt they're a step or two or three behind it seems. It's a short term league. The system is designed to break apart team cores after a few years. That's why (to me) the Jets sound foolish when they constantly talk of their fantasy of building for the long term. Study what the Patriots have been doing & continue to do. If New England somehow finds a way to win another division title, make another deep playoff run this year with no Brady, no Gronk, a bunch of key player opt outs I think it's time to rethink EVERYTHING.
