ah the exquisite torture. fire gase now, win a few and lose the number one pick, thus blowing the whole rebuild.
This is one of the worst rosters in the history of the game. This is worse than the historically bad teams like Browns and Jaguars. this is a 7-10 year rebuild imo
Honestly, before this year, I had no clue who Trevor Lawrence was. He could have been a shoe salesman for all I know. But with all the recent talk about him from many football experts about him being a generational player, I wouldn't want to be the team to infamously be known for passing him up. Especially the Jets, for cripes sakes. If they get the #1 trade Sam and pick this guy. Knowing that a future coach sees that the Jets have a shot at Trevor, I think they'll be lines forming on the right.
spot on. But sadly we’ve past that point of long term damage when our clueless idiotic owner called gase a brilliant offensive mind. The best we can hope for now is they sell the team. It will be many years before we sniff the playoffs again.
What a complete disaster. I mean I been in board rooms where an empty suit gets up and espouses some dribble about this or that as to why his/her division is failing. AG is even on that plain... I mean I though Mr. K was the worst of the worst but this guy takes 1st prize. What a clueless loser. Funny story (actually not then but now) that happen to me in my early career, I was working for a President of a fortune 500 Co doing special projects, etc. well, in a meeting I said something I shouldn't have. When the meeting was over, the President pulled me aside, looked me straight in the eye and ask me what the Fk I was thinking. I, I, I couldn't think of anything other then I wasn't thinking and he said, " I pay you think and if you cannot then I do not need you." Short and sweet, I never ever forgot that ...to bad the JJ Bros don't seem to get that concept called accountability.
Besides Quinnen and Becton. Everyone, young talent, is expendable. We truly suck. No talent or depth anywhere.
I don’t think so.. the right coaching staff with some good picks will change the locker room around quick
What i don't understand is how some fans and media are saying we should pick TL. My issue is what free agents are gonna come to this complete shit show. Unless we overpay them there is no freaking way anyone will consider this pile of shit. So why would we ruin another QB, trade the damn pick and get as many players as possible. I mean from Gase last year to that jackass this year, Jamal and his shit, now Bell. It is gonna take years for this team to rebuild any type of reputation within the football community
I can't see that happening at all. I don't think is ego is all that. He was quick to admit that he screwed up in not firing Mac earlier. With all the Jets fans picketing around their HQ and the lousy display on the field, and with Bell wanting out (and maybe others), Johnson will have to acknowledge that Gase has to go. Besides, Douglas may tell him (or already have told him) that if Gase isn't fired at the end of the season, that he (Douglas) will resign.
Because if we have a new HC, and a chance to draft Lawrence would help us get a quality HC, Lawrence wouldn't be ruined unless Douglas really does have a problem with offensive skill position players, in which case it wouldn't matter or help if we got a 100 picks for Lawrence, because Douglas will be yet another incompetent dumbass hired by the moron brothers.
think i posted somewhere last year that this was going to ultimately get worse than the kotite years and we are certainly witnessing that now. do think there will be a shiny new coach in 2021 along with a shiny new QB. we have the left tackle, we'll get the QB, and we just have to add that stud WR. that triangle of offensive talent will be the foundation for the ultimate rebuild. do think the current GM will survive and be successful.
I used to joke about teams like the Browns and Lions until a friend form out of State informed me that the rest of the country views the Jets like that. (And this was not even in the last few years)
