All good points. Plus I'd rather trade Flacco....

Why the Jets would trade Sam D would be a Jet move. We dont know what we have, but every other QB after Sam thrown to the fire looks horrible. Trevor Siemien, Joe Flacco, J Mccown all looked worse than Sam behind the same line, same offense, and coaching. Mind you those guys are Veterans.

The main issue with Sam himself is his availability, but he has plenty of skill and talent to be a top10 QB. Every QB in college looks great, but reality is most will fail. The only way to fairly judge Sam is with a offense that has starting caliber players. Our WRs, RBs, and even TEs are all un proven except Crowder, and Semi Retired Gore. The Oline is a work in progress, and there are too many missing parts to fairly judge Sam.

To trade Sam now is a knee jerk move that can quickly bite us in rear end. Let's get some more healthy bodies back on offense, and see what happens. I have no doubt in my mind Sam D can be a franchise QB barring health/injuries

Didn't you make a thread apologizing to people for your horrendous posting? Now you post this, which is even more horrendous than usual? Delusional really. Unless you are trolling.

Jamal is so important that Seattle has gone (2-0) without him on the field and (3-0) with him on the field including the game he was injured. They rank 32nd in pass defense too. Great stuff!

The Jets offense literally can't score a point and barely gets a first down without Sam. He isn't mentally ruined either. He is 23. He is going to have a great NFL career. The Jets have to choose if it is going to be with them or not.

    Can't score without him?
Can't get a first down without him?

That's laughable because when Sam has played? He ranks 32nd amongst all QBs in QB Rating. Dead last. 32nd.

Sam is 29th in passing yards per game when he's played.

Sam is 31st in yards per completion.

Sam is 30th in completion percentage.

And we're 0-4 with games Sam has played.

Ok. Our offense lacks talent and Gase is awful but that is no excuse for Sam to be playing LIKE THIS 3 years later.

Give me a break about how bad the Jets offense has been without Sam Darnold because with Sam they've been just as bad.

He is mentally ruined. Last year on National TV he admitted to seeing ghosts. This year after another loss he admitted that he's not good enough consistently to play in this league. His words, not mine.

You may not like my words but Jamal Adams made plays for our defense on a defense that lacked CBs, OLBs etc and made so many plays he made Pro Bowl and All Pro teams. Sam Darnold? Can't even crack top 20 in QB Rating. He's not a great QB because great QBs make both their head coach and teammates look better and Sam doesn't make anyone around him better! He's a part of the problem.

If you can get a draft pick for him? You trade him because he's not the answer he's a part of the problem. If a QB in CLE played like this? We'd call him a bust.

I was once a big fan of Sam. But face it. 3 years later and JOE BURROW a freaking ROOKIE for THE BENGALS!!! Looks light years ahead of Sam Sarnold.

I don't care how awful your HC and offensive players are. In year #3 you are NOT ALLOWED to rank 32nd dead last amongst all QBs. This shows me Sam doesn't even have an ability to make players around him better. Not even a little bit better. He's the freaking QUARTERBACK and supposed to be LEADER. But he's not.

Trevor Lawrence, like Joe Burrow, a championship QB can't get here soon enough. Darnold doesn't have an ability to make players look better. He just doesn't.

And let's not all blame Gase for the kid being a freaking turnover machine. Because where the fk was Gase @ while Sam was being a turnover machine @ USC?!? He is what he is. A freaking turnover machine with bad mechanics/weird release.

I don't think Sam would win the starting job over Lawrence.

He wouldn't. Sam couldn't make one NCAA Championship game. Trevor is going to make 3 of them. Sam was a turnover machine @ USC. Trevor almost broke an NCAA record for most constructive passes without an INT thrown. Sam never had a beautiful deep ball @ USC. Trevor makes a living off deep passes hitting his players in stride with a beautiful deep ball and a rocket arm.

Watson was the man @ Clemson. Trevor is becoming a legend @ Clemson.

The Browns/Giants both passed on Sam. No team will pass on Trevor.

Me either. You don't draft a kid #1 overall to sit behind Sam. That is crazy. You decide which direction you are going and that is final. I remember @NCJetsfan suggested this before, but I just don't feel it would create a good environment. If Lawrence is the pick, you move on from Sam. It does him a favor but it also does Lawrence a favor. You don't need that situation. You don't trade Sam before you lock up the #1 pick though because you could end up with 0 QB's, which is also not good.

Football is a team sport. QB's need support. Just look at Rodgers last week. Look at Brady the week before. Sam is in a no-win situation every week. It's odd to me when others can't see obvious things. The offense gets dramatically worse when Sam is not on the field each of the last 3 seasons. It is like night and day. Sam has not played great this season. We can all agree, but that does not mean he can't play great or is ruined. When he is playing great with the Jets or somewhere else in 2021, you will be surprised, but many others will not be.

Sam isn't playing great? Please. Don't use Sam and great within the same sentence.

Sam is PLAYING HORRIBLE. 32nd. Dead last type of horrible.

I am pretty sure Sam is younger now than Rodgers was when he got his first start

Also it would be 100% Jets to make that trade then end up picking #3 overall when both Lawrence and Fields are off the board

And it would be 110% Jets to then sign Fitzpatrick back on a yr long deal and we finish 6-10 and so on and so on forever

Not true. We don't have Maccagnan anymore.

We had 9 or 10 picks this past draft and our 1st two picks were on offense (LT/WR) while not a single DT/NT drafted by JD.

Who the hell wants to trade for Flacco? A QB nobody wanted when they could just sign him.

It's funny. Last year fans wanted to trade Jamal to Dallas. This year it's Sam to Dallas.

    Jaguars.
    Broncos.
    Giants.
    Washington.
    Vikings.

If those teams don't want Sam? No team would.

It's sad to say but Sam isn't worth anything more than a 4th or 5th rounder right now or else Dallas would have already been calling for his service's after their Prescott injury.

Only Jet fans believe Sam has trade value. I'd trade him asap but I know it's not going to happen. He's not worth anything (anymore). 3rd year QB? Currently ranked dead last 32nd in QB Rating? No team wants to trade for Sam right now lol sad but true.

Sam Darnold has the career misfortune of playing under the 2nd worst Head Coach in NFL History (Todd Bowles) AND, the 1st worst Head Coach in NFL History (Adam Gase)

This distinction is only made possible by having the worst OWNERS in NFL History (Johnsons)

He should get one chance with a Head Coach that is MERELY Competent...

OK then....lets trade Sam for Dak straight up! Sam takes the reigns in Dallas and saves their season.

For the Jets, Dak stays on IR, Jets release Flacco and start James Morgan for the remainder of the season.

Jets finish 0-16, draft Trevor, trade Dak! Presto!

Trust me. I understand. I absolutely loved Sam coming out however he's a turnover machine. He was a turnover machine @ USC while Gase/Bowles were nowhere around.

I'm sorry but not even a great but just a good QB makes his players and coaches look better. Sam does not. His 3rd year? Rated 32nd amongst all QB's? His former O-Lineman who we all made excuses for Sam are now playing and starting on other teams? Teddy Bridgewater turning Robby into a top 5 NFL WR? Na. I'm sorry. But Sam looks like a bust. You've got a ROOKIE. In CINCINNATI!!! Who looks much better than Sam does. That. To me. Is alarming.
