Obviously this is the most important decision that JD will make in regard to does he pick a QB or build around him. The fact that the Jets have a nice lottery ticket in the 2 pick as th Zach hype machine keeps rolling also leaves me to believe they could get a #1 and #1 for next year plus a 2 and 3 this year if they move out the 2. The fact that Davis thinks Sam is his guy means he may know more what the Jets plans are then the public. Worst case the Jets retool Sam around a QB friendly system and reevaluate at the end of the year. 18 million is not that much of a cap hit for starting QB. And by next year either Wilson Watson will be available. I am all for building around Sam who had no skill players of OL to help him. Orlavsky and Mel kiper also believe the Jets should keep Sam who they rank ahead of Zach W ilson.
Clickbait headline is all the post is referring to. Davis said Sam is the QB right now. Never mentioned the future. Never said he expects Sam to be the QB. He answered questions posed in a very professional, noncommittal manor.
Kiper just said 2 days ago that the jets will pick Zach Wilson at 2 (Cimini and Kiper are both jokes by the way)
Why is a newly signed free agent making a comment like this such a big deal? I don't get it lol Who gives a flying fuck what Corey Davis says about Sam Darnold
What a strange load of bollocks reply that is btw I am sure the forum would have lived another minute without your post lol Still, it is amusing to see such a flip side to your posting, you never miss an opportunity to give Sam a swift dig but it wasn't it the complete opposite a season back, Sam's knight in white armour lol there is a middle ground between love and hate He is toast for me but there is only so many times you can say it on a forum without becoming repetitive. Back to the post above though, I am sure plenty of people were interested in what our new likely #1 or #2 WR had to say about the QB, not sure how you don't get that tbh, it isn't really rocket science really, more so if you are a Sam supporter and are looking to reach out for some hope. Consumed with hatred for Sam you have become Of course, let's not forget that my original comment was pretty obviously a quip, hence the fucking winking smiley but yeah, stay active my man.
My hatred for Sam is for the 3 years of horrible quarterback play that has partially caused us to suck and consistently lose games. I loved Sam previously because he showed a lot of promise. He has great talent and is an all around good kid. I had a lot of hope for him, but when he continues to cost us games and destroy many opportunities to win football games, the hatred is born. History has also proven that a players comments do not really hold much merit, especially when it involves personnel moves made by management. Again, what Corey Davis says does not really mean shit, and that's not out of hatred for Sam. And this isn't even taking into account that the comment is largely taken out of context on what was actually said
well that would be interesting, wouldn't it...... i suppose they could have darnold AND wilson on the roster.
Of course, but it had every right to be discussed but again that wasn't the point of my post it was just a quip to somebody saying they aren't bothered by something but were bothered enough to comment, it is just a touch of irony, it was no biggie
I am almost certain they’re going Wilson. Scheme fit, top 2 QB by most scouts measure, get to restart the clock on a rookie contract, and don’t forget that rookie class next year isn’t supposed to be good for QBs and they probably don’t expect to be picking top 5 again. They’re taking Wilson guys.
It's no coincidence that there is a lot of talk building about the potential of us running with Darnold next year as we get closer and closer to the draft
Saleh and Douglas are very process driven, something may still come to light for them. Maybe someone floats crazy trade offer and they’re okay taking Mac Jones or maybe even keeping Sam. Nothing is set in stone. Also I dont have contacts in the Jets org so this is just based off all of these factors.
I'm fine either way. Not my first choice, but I'm far from sold on this years class outside of TL and think the other QBs would be fighting for third best next year. There are alot of possibilities for the #2 pick and it could go a long way toward rebuilding the roster. Just a false spin on the interview. On writer took it even further today claiming Davis came to NY because he wants to play with Darnold....
If we draft Pitts at #2, my head will explode and I will burn every piece of Jets memorabilia and clothing I own
