Allow me to ask opinions of the folks I trust. Geez. I am a fan, not a football expert. A lot of my questions are due to not watching any college football. Come on man. Give me a break. :)

Okay we have been living off of tweets, articles, and analyst rants for our truths.

Here is an actual truth. Trevor Lawrence is far and away the most promising QB this draft. There was little more to say about him. But that doesn't turn heads or sell subscriptions. So they looked for something interesting to drive discussions. Enter Zack Wilson. In January he was a project with potential. In Feb. he was a very promising prospect. In March he was great. And now in April he is Patrick Mahomes light.

See, everyone had things to talk about and debate. It was a great time filler. But none of that is the truth. Every draft its the same. Someone needs to be way over hyped to make the conversation interesting. There is always a big chunk of league hyped fools gold and the joke is on whoever overspends on them.

He is still just a project with potential. No way is he worth the 2nd pick overall. No QB this draft not named Lawrence is.

Why do you say that? You are Eddie Mush Montanaro reincarnated. Need I say no more.

What??? That tape was supposed to convince you to be a Wilson guy!!!:p

Just kidding! If what you saw with your own eyes tells you Fields is the right pick, then fine. I'm just glad you saw for yourself whatever conclusion you reached.

Yep CC. Thanks to you I was able to analyze Wilson a little more. He isn't giving me full confidence unfortunately. I hope I am wrong. Wilson to Jets now pays -2000. This is more than a lock at this point. I made my peace with him. I hope he is everything you guys hope he is.

So you think that because there seems to be a consensus between YouTube breakdown guys and some media heads that they'll automatically be right?

I know you buy into that silly Casserly report, but regardless, it's not like every consensus pre-draft ends up being right pro-draft. I think that's the aggravating thing about flaunting all these media heads reports and YouTube. It's not as if you cannot have an opposing opinion just because more people disagree.

Sorry Brook, I really didn't mean it as a shot at you. Just showing how much you value Legler's opinion and that's fine, he has a good track record here.

My biggest worry actually is: will the fans give him enough slack after all the years of frustration and disappointment, coming hot on the heels of the "late" Savior Darnold? I think Wilson is going to have some growing pains, especially if they start him right away, which is why I hope they sign a vet to allow Wilson to come up to speed. But in the long run, I really believe he's going to be great. After all, Namath struggled at first, so did Elway, and according to the Merrill Hoge interview posted in the other thread, even the "perfect" Peyton Manning couldn't throw outside the numbers when he first came into the league. And Mahomes himself sat for almost the entire first year.

But given his OCD study habits, and his moxie, added to his great physical tools, I expect him to be the best since Namath (of course tha's not a very high bar, but still...).

Huh? It's a consensus among just about everyone man, including NFL teams. Even if we put the Casserly survey aside, what do you say to this:

And again, that's if I'm doing you a massive favor and completely throwing out the Casserly survey. Do you need a third source to confirm that the actual professionals disagree with you, Legler and Kurt?

I'm not saying anyone is going to be right or wrong. I'm saying that acting like Wilson is a TGG-created illusion is insane, because it is. Maybe consider, just for a second, that you and your boys are the ones who fell victim to media hype after the OSU/Clemson game and never shook the trance over the following months.

I mean Douglas and Saleh have been in sync with this pick from the beginning of the offseason if all reports are true. Of course it’s a crapshoot but I prefer the measured approach over what the Niners are doing which seems to be waiting until the last minute to decide who to pick at QB. I honestly think what we put around Wilson matters more than his individual floor or ceiling.

That's simply if you believe that NFL teams have any motivation to leave information as to who their consensus picks are at particular positions. And furthermore, if you believe they are purposely releasing information.

Maybe it is the NFL consensus. I don't think it's a TGG conspiracy that Wilson has jumped way up the draft boards. But to state an unverifiable assertion as a consensus opinion to be a fact is rather silly. Not to mention the big stopper argument in the beginning was presented as Chris Simms likes him *mic drop*

Either way there's been some message board sludge and that's cool with me. Glad to see fans that seem to give a shit about this team again - myself included. It means a potential positive season is coming.

I love you too legler but not as much as I love Fields. Sorry. Lol. Peace brother. :)
He truly does REVISion. He only comes here when Jets need a QB. He makes the correct call and Jets GM's disappoint him. His favorite QB's go on and deliver great results. That's why he is my go to guy. But for this once, I hope both him and I are wrong and Wilson is the real deal. I just don't see it but we shall see. Go Jets! :)

Let me check. Hold on. Yep. As of today, he is -5000. If it wasn't Ramadan, I would bet $10 on Fields to win $160.

How about this CC. If he turns out to be great, I owe you a Jets game from head to toe. I will pay for your game ticket and include you in my tailgate and cook you steaks! I just wish brother.
