And the Dolphins to be docked picks. Twice in one year they threw the guy back in there with a concussion?
I just said this in the Jets forum. The NFL should investigate the Dolphins for endangering Tua, and if it turns out the coaching staff knew and covered things up, they should be kicked out of the game.
It looked like he was afraid to land on his left shoulder and flipped around causing his head to hit the turf. Seriously though you are right about retirement. His propensity to get his brain scrambled makes him a strong candidate for first player dead on an NFL field and I can't believe the NFL is going to let that happen. That would be a game changer that would get heavy regulation of the NFL passed in several states and would effectively take the rule book out of the NFL's hands and put it in OSHA's hands.
There is no chance this guy should play the rest of the year and he should seriously consider retirement. He's had 3 in what, 6 weeks? This dude is going to be a vegetable man. I have no idea how the spotter didn't see his head slam off the ground. Of all players to miss this on as well. Sad man. Hopefully he's alright.
My friend commented on that too. Someone needs to teach the guy how to fall because he looks like his instincts say to protect his collarbone rather than his head.
At minimum he shouldn't play the rest of the season. I mean to be this susceptible to concussion you have to worry about his quality of life. I think he could be on the road to early retirement.
He has to be done for the year in all reality. Dolphins and Stephen Ross should be sued, fined, and docked picks
Interesting take. He got around the first testing vs the bills by using loophole saying his ankle / back injury earlier in the year.
I don't know if that guy is some kind of Dolphins turd, but to blame the player for his behavior after a head injury seems distinctly un-doctorly.
He’s just a sports med doctor who has become very popular in the fantasy football community bc of his injury insight. He was very anti NFL and NFLPA when the first Tua concussion problems were going on. Tua and dolphins lied against the bills in the week 3 game to circumvent concussion testing. They said he wobbled bc of an ankle / lower back injury that he had earlier in the year or offseason which allowed them to not test him for a concussion.
I'm no doctor, but it seems to me that Tua is risking a severely diminished quality of life, post NFL, and possible early CTE related death. His brain is scrambled eggs by now. Take the money and run.
and fucking stupid..... to fault a a guy for trying trying to be a tough guy in a sport that lauds tough guys and admonishes softies.... he's obviously never played sports aside from "championship GM of the Douchenozzle fantasy league" That being said, still sucks for Tua... obviously a competitor, but he has to think about his health and the Ohana. Hopefully the signing bonus went into a retirement fund (judging the kid, I think it did)
That's all good background information, but it does nothing to change my mind about that guy's Tweet, it was overwhelmingly douchey and comes of to me f as dangerously irresponsible. I do think the Dolphins should be punished into oblivion for their part. Being on the field helps players reach performance escalators, so they are going to say what they can to stay on the field. The CS seems like they were not interested in taking him off the field at all, even though this head injury situation with Tua could leave him crippled or worse. This isn't 1970.
I’ve never seen a player, or a person, break a fall with their head so much. Something’s definitely not right with Tua.
Breaking News: Tua on Concussion protocol Agree with all Teams that cover up seriousness of this injury should be punished and the NFL supposed heightend concerns over Football safety exposed
Dolphins really are a scumbag organization. I hope someone investigates this, and yeah Tua needs to consider another line work. I think he could be a decent coach eventually I mean the guy was a great college player.
