The way the board has fell right now leads to a defensive lineman. Deonte Walker has fallen a bunch, but was a good player at Kentucky. Possibly weight or leverage issues?

There are a bunch of good edges out there. Jared Ivey makes the most sense as a strong side edge with some beef, but man I’d love to get Kyle Kennard. Relentless pass rusher.

Receiver wise the only guy I like a ton is Horton. Don’t know much about Royals but he was projected as high as a mid second round player. Small school and garbage program so it’s hard to evaluate good players on bad teams.

It'd be cool if the jets snag RJ Mickens, S, Clemson, today. Son of Ray, who played with AG in the Jets Defensive backfield. Jets have big time S needs too.

Id love Mickens but we just spent a 3rd on a CB after paying another (bad) CB $12 mil a year so either we’re horrendous at managing the roster or we have our safeties already between Adams and Stephens. Obviously you always need depth but we have too many glaring needs to be worrying about depth picks in the fourth and fifth rounds.

Gotta be honest, quite a bummer to see you say the receiver situation is bleak. When we foolishly went corner back over Noel I said to myself OK, someone made a list of solid day three receivers on TGG. Back read it was you. Love the Taylor pick, makes me a lot more OK with the Membou pick, but it’s really hard to feel like we didn’t blow it considering how desperately bad we need a receiver and how we chose to ignore it until day three.

Walker is huge- like Becton. 6’7”. Played basketball. He’s athletic but has a bad motor.

I like Pegus from Old Miss in the 4th or 5th. Not as tall but a big kid, and has played all over the DL.

Horton’s knee injury gives me pause. I’d rather, if this year is about building a base of consistent contributors, look to guys who won’t be injury risks moving forward.

Ayomanor as someone said above should be a safer pick. Stanford kid.

Unless there is a giant red flag that hasnt been publicized, time to trade up and get Sanders.

John Abraham should be announcing Atlanta’s picks not ours

I would like this. At this point it's no risk, high reward. If there are some red flags or issues, you can just cut him. But he has potential to be a good qb.

Don’t trade up for a third string QB until you’ve addressed the worst WR and DL rooms in the league.

Not that they shouldn't address WR further, but it's becoming clear this offense is going to be very run heavy with GW and Mason Taylor as the main pass catchers, not to mention Breece.

This team still has a lot of holes and it's been clear for a while there will inevitably be some weak spots

Yup but I wouldn’t say that the DL is the worst but needs help in the middle.

    WRs are a disaster.

    We could use a backup/developmental G.

    We need a S.

We need so many things that, as you say, taking a developmental 3rd string QB the year before a draft rich with QB prospects is the height of madness.

It’s not like we were going to have some dynamic passing attack anyway. I expect a lot of two tightend sets or tackle eligible. Maybe they find a fullback somewhere as a UDFA? The receiver room is bad and I’d like to at least grab one but reaching for one because the room sucks is a bad idea.

Thank you for providing some insight from them. Fuck Pats! Glad their fans envy Jets picks. :)

This was never going to be an overnight fix but it feels like there was a huge hole that needed fixing, we had all of the supplies to patch it up and we chose to paint over another patched up hole instead. I’m not sure I will ever be able to wrap my head around the way we’ve addressed the defensive backfield this offseason.

Im not sure which S position Mickens plays but I’ve read they don’t have a natural strong safety on the roster. At the very least that tells me they will probably be drafting a S at some point if not just for depth.

They won’t be drafting anymore CBs though you wouldn’t think.

You are correct with how they’ve handled the secondary. It seems perhaps they are still not 100% onboard with a Sauce extension? Stephens was the band aid signing it appears and I believe AG sees the FSU CB as a future starter - a lot of mocks had the Jets selecting him - even in the second round.

Your first statement is absolutely right - this roster won’t be fixed overnight or in just one offseason. Too many needs.

I’d love to go with the following for round 4

    Kyle McCord
    Oronde Gadsen.
    Elic Anamyaor
    Jack Sawyer

Whether Stephens is a safety, backup or starter CB. We need the depth. It’s not like FA were flocking here anyways.

Yeah but would you rather have Gary Jennings Jr. or Maxx Crosby? I’ve never heard of Gary Jennings Jr. but he was a receiver available in the 4th round that went to the Seahawks after when the Raiders took Maxx Crosby.

That’s the tricky part with needs versus drafting the board how it lies.
