Is Justin Fields the second coming of Christian Hackenberg?

He is on his 3rd team in 3 years. The Jets only signed him to a 2-year deal, so he isn't viewed as the long-term answer. The Jets are probably a lock to select a QB in the first round of next year's draft.

I'm gun shy of the now "dreaded first round QB pick". The last two cost us ten years. There. I admit it. I know we have a new GM but I still hate the fate of the franchise resting upon what I consider to be a lottery ticket.

Err what? Hackenberg never threw a single regular season pass.

We are not there yet, lol.... Fields has been fine so far, had some up and down practices along with good ones, and really one bad one on Tuesday when we lost Mason Taylor, and just rebounded big today. He is fine. But we do need more weapons. Ruckert again with a massive drop. Even when we are missing someone like Mason Taylor, who is a 20 year old second round rookie, we are severely lacking weapons. Even with Mason we lack severely, but without him when the next TE option is Ruckert it is just barren.

"- Much better day for the offense and Justin Fields. He played a lot more free, and it showed.
    - Marcelino McCrary-Ball looked REALLY good today. Continues to earn playing time.
    - Excellent day from NY’s tackles. Membou and Fashanu were really good. Minimal pressures.
    - Injuries are an issue, but I just haven’t liked what I’ve seen from Jeremy Ruckert at all this camp. This should be Mason Taylor’s job.

"Justin Fields has been much more decisive and quick in his decision making throwing the ball than he had been recently. Having a solid day overall."

"Justin Fields in 11 on 11 today: 8 of 14 — but that includes a pass that deflected off Jeremy Ruckert’s hands and was picked off, two throwaways and one impressive pass breakup. Had a nice TD throw to Garrett Wilson as well."

So far so good. But need more weapons it feels like. We cannot get by with just GW.

Any opinion I have that someone disagrees with, I’m called a troll just because I’m a bills fan. Others share the same opinion as me in this thread, are they trolls too? Please tell me how Justin fields’ numbers make him a better or equal qb to Tyrod, unless you’re just trolling.

If you think my posts are troll jobs, then report me for such. I think it’s more that you’re butt hurt over the years for me consistently calling you out for stupid, ill informed posts.

    On a Jets forum

You've always come across as a massive bellsniff.

Okay - you go with Fields because the GM said that. I'll go with what the coach said a day or two later that no one gets a job without competing for it, almost as if it was in response to the words of false confidence spun by the GM the day before. In this new Jets regime which guy has the final word on who gets on the field?

There was no daylight between Glenn and Mooge. BOTH said Fields was given QB1 when he signed. Glenn just added there is always competition to keep any job, which we already knew anyway.

No one should ever be "given" a position in the NFL. You could drive a truck between the quotes from Mougey and Glenn. I do not believe Aaron Glenn ever stated that Fields had the unequivocal rights to a first team designation. He's the one who, even in the quote you recently added, said he was penciled in - pencils have erasers for a reason. Predetermining a depth chart has been a significant reason the Jets have failed so miserably for decades. Mougey has bought the groceries; Glenn gets to cook the dinner. - why would it be any other way?
