I see what you did there...outstanding response!

It really is kind of sad, this line of discussion. Doubly sad when you consider we're not trying to be humorous but ridiculously serious. To be having a discussion as to whether a professional sports team will be competitive in one's lifetime is laughable. To even consider is basically a joke. Sadly, it is probably reality and that's a hard pill to swallow. Life is hard enough without the things we all flock to, for a bit of enjoyment, causing heartburn and anything BUT enjoyment. I'm not even sure if "sad" is the correct word at this point. I'm not sure what word to use that correctly depicts this nightmare.

The Jets may or may not become competitive again, but nobody posting on TGG is likely to factor into it. Might as well make light of it sometimes, like we often do. Especially when you consider that we follow the team closely enough that we end up rehashing the same very valid points over and over again….basically like it’s NYJ Groundhog Day.

this is where i am today. the jets are the only game on in my area in the early window, great job nfl idiots. and have just decided not to watch nfl football today. im ruined, from a die hard and season ticket holder to a guy who couldnt give a fuck if they fold up and move to london at this point. the franchise is terrible, the ownership is terrible and nothing will change. theres no reason to think well if this or that happens then this. it wont, this is what happens when you have 25 years of terrible absolutely terrible ownership. watching the pats who spent maybe 2 seasons at the bottom be back on top so quickly. its no surprise that drake maye ended up being good, or that their coach ended up being good. its a leadership and culture thing and this fucking dipshit doesnt have any idea what either is. so here i am basically disinterested and unwilling to care.

That was one of the worst, if not THE worst, performances I have ever seen by the Jets - I cannot see how they will ever be competitive and if they are it will be many many years from now.

It’s been 15 years since the team was any good, and even then it was a wildcard season they overachieved. But the real kick in the balls isn’t the no playoffs, it’s the bottom of the barrel laughing stock of the league the jets have been since 2010. Nothing but an embarrassment, our best season since then was when Fitzpatrick came and surprised the league. It’s been nothing but disappointment since then, terrible coaching hires, the worst offense in the league by far, and never anything to be excited about.

We trade away good players for “rebuilds” that result in teams worse than the previous ones. We make the worst draft decisions, I can’t remember the last time the jets hired an actual bonafide nfl coach, always giving guys their first shot because woody doesn’t want to be challenged.

Remember when woody decided to keep the gm and the head coach as separate and interchangeable departments? As if they don’t need to work together to build a team?

It’s been so long since I can remember enjoying a football season. It’s pathetic at this point.

I’ve always been one of those diehards, you stick with the team, things will change, they players on the field are worth rooting for. But I’m not even sure of that anymore. I’m tired of losing out on watching football cause my team is so bad it’s just frustrating to watch.

I don’t know if I can keep being a jets fan with this level of ineptitude from the top. Now that they are letting some kid that used madden ratings to choose players? Why cause he’s woodys kid? Where is the commitment to football? It’s a money making machine and a toy for them to fiddle with because even with losing, they will pull millions in profit every season just based on location of the franchise alone.

It’s not fair to us fans, and I am really struggling to continue calling myself a jets fan. The problem really now is what to do? Choose a new team? That seems inauthentic and just not right. But what else do we do? Just watch whatever random game is on? That’s not really that fun either.

It’s a real kick to the balls for a 30 year fan.

Speaking from a home team perspective, I don't recall a meaningful home game since the Jets played at the old Giants Stadium... sure there were a few (countable on one hand) of some good competitive, "fun", games in this shitty tin can of a stadium. I'm walking away from four PSLs in section 135. Today was my last as STH.

What a way to go out. Can't blame you for bailing. I can't even bring myself to watch them on TV.

    There's nothing we can do.

My advice don't take it that serious because it's not.

Even with the team not being good it IS an escape from life's troubles IF you keep it in it's proper place.

One of the many things the jets need to do is respect the safety position more. They treat the safety position like it's 2005 and just draft low round or undrafted safeties. Most good defenses have one high draft pick safety that impacts the game.

Our safety play is just total dogshit and it has been for at least 5 years. Pats safety made a pick today... Then on the following drive almost the same exact scenario, Maye looked at one player down the sideline, and instead of being ready to make a play Isiah Oliver (100% grade A dogshit of a player) was about 2 miles away.

1998 through 2010 was good since then, it has been absolutely brutal. Every season over by Halloween. It is unbelievable.
