If both Raiders and Browns win, Jets will be picking 2nd considering they will lose to the Pats. Let's create this prayers thread to send goo vibes to Los Angeles and Cleveland for the magic to happen! Go Raiders Go Browns May God be with you!
I'm not a religious man (in my best Forrest Gump impression), but I'd throw a little Karma to the Browns and Raiders if they would be so kind as to win.
Cheer for the Packers over the Ravens to. If the Ravens lose, the Steelers clinch the division on Saturday night. Therefore the Steelers have nothing major to play for against Cleveland on Sunday.
Agreed and I dont think Carrol is in a position to just tank here. Hes basically fighting for his job at this point it sounds like so winning the last 2 games would help his case.
So far things did not go our way. With the Cowboys win over Washington our strength of schedule is basically right with the Raiders. They might need to win both of their games for us to jump them.
not really sure why anyone cares about where we draft, we've basically had a top 10 pick for 15 plus years straight and we seem to get worse and worse every year. do ppl really think - we'll know the correct prospect to draft - know how to develop said prospect - build a game plan for this prospect - eventually sign this prospect to a 2nd contract we never do these things, lets stop living in dreamland. instead we'll: - overdraft someone - expect a miracle from mediocre prospect - give them zero support - create a game plan that caters to this prospects weak points - watch this kid struggle and everyone from fans to media turn on him - eventually dump him for pennies on the dollar and draft his replacement, with most likely another top 10 draft pick and then start the whole process over again.
Look. I can’t dispute anything you wrote above. This has been our reality past 15 years. That said, a very high draft pick can’t hurt. By luck we might stumble upon the next Mahomes or Allen. Who knows really?
Even if we did, the Jets would ruin the guy's career before it even gets off the ground. This franchise had a good QB in Darnold and decided to let him go because they had that #2 overall pick burning a hole in their pocket.
Remember when some people here tried to say Zach Wilson would be better than Trevor Lawrence? Good times....
We had a terrible GM at the time and failed Sam. Sam was off to a start with bad regime, but so was Lawrence, Caleb, and Maye. The problem is, when JD came he made it worse. Sam didn't have good supporting cast before, and JD made it worse of all time. Perriman, semi retired Gore, and Herndon were his top weapons. They got total of like 300 yards for the rest of their career combined. and no OL. Now it feels like the situation is better. OL is much better, and we have some weapons. Coaching is still a question mark and ideally would be replaced. But if not, perhaps at least enough not to ruin the guy. So this could be the situation of Lawrence, Caleb, and Maye and not the disaster that Sam was in. At least I hope so.
There, added the final piece. Can't forget that MOST of our high draft picks end up going somewhere else and being, at the very least, a decent player for said team.
This is the first game in NFL history featuring two teams on 9 game losing streaks. Pretty funny that it’s one of only two games on at 4:25PM on Sunday too.
We'll have to replace 2 spots on the O-line (Simpson is gone & we HAVE to upgrade Myers). Which means that drafting OT Francis Mauigoa (Miami) or OT Spencer Fano (Utah) & pushing Armand Membou inside to OG is not entirely out of the question. That would make 1 heck of an O-line for a QB to come in & succeed. A QB's success thereby translates to success for the WR & TE corps --- not to mention that it would greatly help out Breece Hall. Nothing should be off the table ---- except trading up for a 22yr old QB. When he was drafted, Sam Darnold didn't have a WR or a RB or an O-line. He had just turned 21yrs old after the draft & before summer training camp --- yet the NYJ organization expected him to be a miracle worker.
Membou has been the lone bright spot and he's a tackle, they don't want to move to guard because guards make less money. You could just say get your ass inside but that's not going to go over well with the player.
Have to agree here. Not sure about Membou's personality but you don't move someone "inside" unless they completely blow in the spot they occupy. I got/get the sense they are happy with Membou at this point and would be very surprised if they drafted another guy high. They better be damn sure Membou takes one for the "team" BEFORE they make that decision.
