Does seem high for him but it’s a relatively low price to fill a need. Hopefully he makes it worth it.
I like this move as the Islanders get a guy with playoff experience and 2 picks for a player who IMO was not gonna pan out https://youtube.com/shorts/Qk1qrgTND7M?si=wFAvuewfzrWfY788
Soucey I like, my buddy is a Ranger fan and he likes him, he was playing on second line defense, told me he’s a tough defenseman who likes to hit and is consistent. Palat I’m not sure of, he’s 34, I know his contract expires next year and they can let him walk, but where is he playing? He’s not a scorer, the isles already have veterans. I feel like I’m missing something with Palat.
Nobody expects the Isles to Cup this year, but these moves are still good moves. Mostly for our younger players especially Schaeffer to make the playoffs and getting to experience playoff hockey will be a great experience for the young players on this team. Still a lot of season left before we can talk playoffs. Let's Go Islanders. Big home and home with the Rangers starting tonight at UBS and tomorrow at the Garden.
Palat yesterday, Soucy today. Schaefer with another goal. Isles take the season series 4-0-0. About as good as it gets.
The Isles outscored them 14-3 over the four game season series sweep. But the most impressive thing about this is the Rangers never had a lead at any point in these four games. NOT ONE LEAD. Think about that.
Irrelevant trivia: Carson Soucy is the first player to ever score a goal at MSG for both the Rangers and the Islanders in the same season.
Big games coming up these next two days. Tonight, at Washington who the Isles lead by four points and tomorrow vs the Pens who they trail by two points. Big four points on the table. Let's Go Islanders.
Huge win last night vs the Pens. Came back to win in overtime 5-4 and end a two-game losing streak. Let's Go Islanders.
Isles head to the break with a tough win over the Devils, completing season sweeps against both the Devils and the Rangers for the first time ever. See you in three weeks, boys.
Our old friend Brock Nelson becomes the third generation of his family to win Olympic gold, joining his grandfather Bill Christian, great-uncle Roger Christian (both 1960), and uncle Dave Christian (1980). They're the first family in Olympic history in any sports to go gold three generations deep (grandparent, child, grandchild). Pretty nice for Bill to get to see it (on TV), 66 years after he won gold, at the age of 88. Dave was there in person for Brock's gold.
Game day. First one in about 3 weeks. Hopefully they can start the stretch run with a win tonight at Montreal. Let's Go Islanders.
Isles with the nice win, twice coming from behind (2-0, 3-2) to tie it late and win in OT. Schaefer with two goals to move past Phil Housley for most goals by an 18-year-old defenseman.
Another OT win for the boys. Like the two points, but it would be nice if they start playing games at the beginning, rather than halfway through. 8-0 in games decided in OT.
Isles win for the 8th time in 10 games, once again falling behind 2-0 and coming back. Schaefer with 2 goals to hit 20 for the season, becoming the fourth rookie defenseman to score at least 20, He's 3 behind Brian Leetch's NHL record.
Five game winning streak. Love these wins but they need to start better. Can't keep falling behind by two and expect to keep winning. Last night playing 3 in 4 and with the backup goalie I give full credit to the Isles. Honestly, I thought last night would be a loss but great job coming back for the win.
NHL on X: "20 GOALS FOR MATTHEW SCHAEFER This is the first-ever time a defenseman has been the first rookie to score 20 goals in a season! https://t.co/ROnZe6zgMN" / X
Darren Dreger on X: "1st, 3rd and a prospect return for Schenn." / X WTF Darche Isles trade with the Blues. Luke Schenn but we give up a 1st, 3rd AND A PROSPECT.
