Even though a ton of time has passed, I'm still thoroughly blown away the Dolphins extended Tua with the contract they did. Shit, if only for medical alone, I wouldn't have done that deal. I read that article and mother fuck, a $99.2 million Cap hit when they cut him? That is damn near between half and a full 3rd of their entire Cap! That there is NY Jets/Cleveland Browns level ineptitude!

Tua needs to retire anyway. He's going to get killed on that field. That's literally, not figuratively in his case. Holy cow... $99.2 million...

He could assist getting the WRs the ball. 1yr deal I would be okay with.

I remember thinking the same thing when they extended him. Really dumb!

Wow. I'd take Tua and his awful contract for Miami's first rounder( pick 11 overall).

No way Miami would do that deal with a division rival, right? o_O

Tua has two issues that won't change:

    1. Injury history 2. He's terrible in cold weather.

    It's not happening.

"Assist", that made me laugh. I had a visual of (insert some guy in a Jets uniform) going, "Does anyone want this thing? I don't, but I can assist you with taking it off my hands by throwing it . . . probably away."

Tua is currently the most likely player in professional sports to leave the field in a hearse. Would make a lot of sense for him to go out as a Jet.

For sure. Why wouldn’t Miami just eat all the money and move on though? We just did it with Rodgers, the Broncos did it with Russell Wilson, etc.

It’s one season in cap hell and that’s about it.

I’d do the deal. We can absorb the cap hit on his retirement/death, whichever comes first.

NFW, he needs warm weather and/or a dome.
