Breaking News on Sportscenter... If healthy this is a solid pickup...He can help White and Jenkins...
Joe Horn to Falcons I hope im not the asshole who posted the 5th thread on this... Anyway, Michael Smith reported that Horn passed his physical, and has signed a deal.
I thought for sure he would resign with the Saints. I guess he'll be going back there once a year. Shame he had to go to N.O.'s biggest rival.
Alge Crumpler is actually the worst pass dropper of them all. I think he led the laegue in drops last year. Smart move by Atlanta. They need someone who can actually hold onto the ball and Horn is as good as anyone at that. Hopefully (for them) he can stay healthy.
Falcons Sign Wr Joe Horn March 8, 2007 By SportsTicker http://www.kffl.com/article.php/64882/115 (PRECEDING REPORT; ADDING INFORMATION) FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia (Ticker) -- Joe Horn will have a chance to come back and haunt the New Orleans Saints. Upset after being released by the Saints, the four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on its web site that the 35-year-old Horn agreed to a multi-year contract of at least three years with guarantees of at least $2 million. After Horn was unable to restructure his contract with the Saints, he was released by the club seven days ago. It was a bitter departure for Horn, who ranked first in club history with 50 touchdown catches and second in receptions (523) and yards (7,622). Horn signed with New Orleans in 2000 and also served as the de facto voice of the franchise during the 2005 season that dramatically affected by Hurricane Katrina. Horn was limited to 10 games last season due to a groin injury and missed the Saints' run to the NFC championship game. He finished with 37 receptions for 679 yards and four touchdowns. In Atlanta, Horn will hope to become a reliable target for erratic quarterback Michael Vick. He also will look to fit in new coach Bobby Petrino's system that caters to offense. Falcons owner Arthur Blank told the Journal-Constitution that he is relieved that Horn now is on his side. "I'm thrilled to have him as a player, and obviously his productivity in the NFL has been extraordinary," Blank said. "Unfortunately, I've seen what he's done a number of times against the Falcons. It's been a source of frustration for a number of years. I'm very enthused about having him. He's achieved at the highest levels." Fined $30,000 for using his cell phone to celebrate a touchdown in a 2003 game, Horn has 576 receptions for 8,501 yards and 57 scores in 151 career contests. He spent his first four seasons with Kansas City.
