They are currently in cap trouble. If they wanted to make a big signing, they'd have to drop more quality depth guys. They do it every year. Look at least year - they had to drop Royal (a very solid blocking TE) to grab Raandel-El (who did nothing for them).
"They are expected to make a call"? Wow - this is incredible, since the Redskins are always expected to make a move for every overpaid player which might be traded.
