I was watching some nonsense on ESPN this morning and they reported that the Chargers re-signed Michael Turner to a 1-year deal on the bottom line. What happened to all of the teams willing to throw caution and draft picks to the wind for him?

    edit:
Chargers | Turners signs tender offer

Adam Caplan, of Scout.com, reports restricted free-agent RB Michael Turner has signed his one-year, $2.35 million tender offer from the San Diego Chargers.

It just goes to prove that everyone that was so gung-ho about giving up a frist round pick was dead-wrong in their evaluations.

Soooo happy I was never on the Turner band wagon

He can still be traded. He just can't be signed to an offer sheet.

Yeah, I figured that out with the KFFL article, but I figured I'd leave the initial post up there anyway. ESPN's bottom line reported it as 'Chargers re-sign RB Michael Turner to 1-yr deal'. Serves me right for paying attention to ESPN.

Yeah, I figure he is as good as gone from San Diego. My guess is either Titans, Bills or Packers at this point. We shall see...

    Turner signed but not sealed
<Apr. 27> Turner has re-signed with the Chargers, inking his one-year restricted free-agent qualifying offer, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

Had another team signed Turner, and San Diego declined to match the deal, the Chargers would have received first- and third-round draft picks as compensation.

That high compensatory price tag scared off several franchises that might otherwise have been interested in signing Turner to an offer sheet.

It did not, however, eliminate suitors altogether, as the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills discussed the possibility of trading for the three-year veteran tailback.

Chargers general manager A.J. Smith has said there remain six teams interested in dealing for Turner, but declined to identify clubs beyond the Bills and Titans. Smith has said that he will not merely give Turner away, even though he stands the risk of losing the talented back after this

I saw on NFL Live Clayton reported that an unnamed team has offered their 1st rounder in 2008 for Turner. They said it was between Buffalo, Tennessee, Green Bay, and possibly Dallas. My two guesses are Buffalo and Green Bay. It's a one-year deal with Turner, if Green Bay grabs Moss and Turner they could be making a one last shot at a ring for Lord Favre. Probably the Bills, though.

Buffalo has played really loose with their first round picks recently, which is why they're in such trouble. I have some problems with the idea that Levy would continue the trend of disrespect for that value.

He'll be traded sometime tomorrow... maybe a team like the Bills or Packers would swap firsts and add him in?

the bills have dropped out of the deal...they will probably add someone like pittman in round 2
    i keep hearing someone offered a 1st in the 08' draft....but who? Titans/Packers?
apparently the packers have offered everything for everyone lately
