I'd like to share a conversation I had with Mantana Soss this afternoon. We were talking about our fantasy teams. This was at 2:55 in the afternoon. Soss: my opponent has 4 starters going too me: heh Soss: but my 4 is waaay better me: montana [Note: a team in our league] had 4 going yesterday, and there were only like 6 games Soss: wakefield, banniester, washburn, and verlander me: ew Soss: milwaukee SUCKS in interleague Soss: so verlander will pitch a nono me: hah   Incredible
Say what you will about ESPN but it's great that they interupt and bring us right out to that. It's such an awesome moment in baseball to see a guy finish off a game like he just did and reading abut it the next day or watching highlights just doesn't do it justice.
 I blame Coco Crisp, because if it wasn't for his error, Stewart wouldn't have come up to the plate for the 4th time, and it would've been a perfect game (provided that innings 6-9 went as they did)
Indeed. When it's going on it's meant to be called "that thing we don't talk about". For example my conversation on the phone with Shade tonight. FTC- Hello Shade- What's up? FTC - You know that thing we don't talk about? Shade- Yup Shade *hangs up*
That's totally what I meant. I've always had this confusion with Crisp. For some reason I always thought he played SS before he came to Boston. Got me this time.
I agree with you man. I wonder how many guys played baseball in their time. (I'm not trying to sound like a dick here, I just wonder if guys played the game and aren't superstitious.) Me personally, I have always been superstitious, and so was everyone I ever played with. Of all sports, I think baseball has the highest concentration of superstition. Perfect games and no-hitters are not to be discussed until complete. That's just the way it's always been. I thought it was hillarious when Mike Kay went bezerk on his radio show after talking about a (I think it was a no-hitter, but I can't remember for sure right now,) when he admits freely he never played as a kid.
I'm pretty superstitious when I play. I REFUSE to step on foul lines going on and off the field, and I do this weird thing with my bat the same number of times every pitch. There's probably a couple other things I don't even realize I do anymore.
Nah i didnt mean to be an asshole like that, so i do apologize. Im just not one for superstitions necessarily.
