now that we solidified the QB spot for at least year, we really need to draft offensive playmakers at the RB and TE spot.. with b. schott as our offensive coordinator, he is use to having 2 playmakers on offense being the RB and TE last year with the chargers.. why not duplicate the same offensive powerhouse?? we are in awesome position to trade down a few spots and grab vernon davis and the deangelo williams.. these are two homerun hitters that can get to the endzone every time they touch the ball.. we should def trade our #4 pick down to pick #9 and draft vernon davis.. we can get nice compensation for those who want williams, hawk, and ferguson.. we then can trade the 2nd we got for trading down along with our 2nd up to spot #15 and draft d. williams.. not to mention that we should take mangold with #31 we get from the seahawks.. our offense would be back on track and ready to dominate in a few years.... please make this happen FO.. i would be so happy during the draft and probably get ridiculously hammered..
It's way out there. But I'd like it. If you gave me those two I'd be a very happy man. I wouldn't like trading any picks away to make it happen though. If we were able to secure ATL's 15 then I'd be interested. Otherwise keep all the picks we have - we are going to need them.
The NFL is not madden you cannot force teams to trade with you just because you want to. Finding a trading partner is kind of like finding a perfect woman you have to be lucky and in the right place at the right time.
agree people tend to forget that.but it could worse we could make up new trades and truely believe in them like the falcons fans do
Here's the problem I have with this draft. I'd love to see Brick, Vernon Davis, Mario Williams, Deangelo Williams, AJ Hawk, and one of the later OL guys (e.g. Mangold) on the Jets. Plus I want a pony.
Why isn't anyone talking about the Jets taking Mario Williams. A lot of mock draft sites have him ranked as high as #4. He would replace Abe. He's being compared to Julius Peppers. Not bad company.
i think just about everyone on this board loves mario williams and wouldnt be mad at the pick.. but we still dont have a offense. and if we draft mario what happens to Dewayne robertson? Ellis-Kimo-Williams Barton-?-Vilma-Chatmen (sp?)
I just participated in a 7 RD Mock over the past few weeks with 32 seperate GM's ... I GM'ed the Jets ... and I took Mario Williams at #4 after Bush, Cutler and Leinart went 1, 2 and 3 ... that was before the Saints acquired Brees Here's the complete haul I had for the Jets, with a projected Comp 3 and 7 RD 1: #004 - DE Mario Williams RD 2: #035 - RB Laurence Maroney RD 3: #071 - OT Joe Toledo RD 3: #097 - OG Mark Setterstrom RD 4: #103 - TE Tony Scheffler RD 4: #117 - QB Ingle Martin RD 5: #139 - OC Chris Chester RD 6: #176 - OT Derek Morris RD 7: #211 - WR Todd Watkins RD 7: #217 - LB Dale Robinson RD 7: #244 - DT Sir Henry Anderson
We don't need a 5th TE on the roster if we resign baker just wasted spots can't get rid of Dreesen or Dearth and we have jolley and resign baker. We have way to many needs on d-line and o-line would rather see them take M.Williams or AJ.Hawk both bigger needs and with 7 picks left we need more fore the buck.
Well it goes back to the adage do you draft for need or the best available talent? Williams is a certain PBer and can change the outcome of a game. Mangini is a defense guy and knows you win with D first.
a few problems...................we only have ONE 3rd, 7th rounder............................and we r prolly gunna have 2 1st rounders
