How will the Jets perform in Vegas this week?

For those of you not gambling addicts yet, Jets (+6.5) means the odds makers set the betting line that we will lose by 6.5 points. If you think we will lose by less than 6.5 points or win you would bet on the Jets (+6.5) but if you think we will lose by more than 6.5 point you would bet on Pats (-6.5). The over/under is set at 41 so if you think the total points scored by both the Patriots and the Jets will be less than 41, you would bet on the under, otherwise bet on the over.

If anyone has a different explanation or if I made a mistake in any way, please feel free to correct me.

    Thanks!

i normally try to avoid betting on the jets and especially against them
and i normally dont place bets week 1
....unless there is just a great spread
outside of the friendly wager with a friend i have bet on a jets game 3 times
    1. against SD in the playoffs...i took the points and them straight up
    2. against Pitt in the playoffs...we got a lot of pts for that game
    3. and against NE last year in the playoffs....NE was a lock

I think NE is better but they are missing Harrison and Seymour and Moss has been out. I like the Jets here. I also like the under because I think Mangini/Schott will try out their new toy Jones and Belli will play it safe with the running game as well.

sorry guys, but i think the score is gonna be pats 27-jets 17 (just being honest) so i went with over 41 points and took the pats...i just think we cant stop their running game and BB will be smart enough to attack DBrick and Bender on the weak left side of the OLINE

Wait!!! The PATS are favored???? That makes no sense.

I thought the Jets would be favored by at least 10 points playing at home.

Take the Jets and the under. Final score:

    Jets 10 1/2
    Pats 0

Took New England, under 41 points. I hope I am wrong but NY has struggled with them for years and NE has only improved this off season.

If the score plays out under i think the Pats have no shot at covering and perhaps the Jets can even still it in the last few minutes. But if its a high scoring shoot out, the Jets have no chance. Im looking at 17-16, not sure who.

    Week 1 Results:

The Board incorrectly picked the over/under and the spread.
Congratulations to the 13 people who picked the correct bet, Patriots (-6.5) and over 41 points.

42% (myself included) missed both bets
36% correctly chose the Patriots by 6.5
39% correctly chose over 41 points
18% correctly chose both the Patriots and the Over.

Not good as a whole but clearly an indication of homerism.

I got the over bet! That was what I was most confident about. Hey, I did think we'd manage to keep it close, too, but oh well.
