The NFL's best defender on the block? The NFL trade deadline is Oct. 16 and that fact is important now only because the Dolphins should use the next four weeks to do the difficult thing and trade Jason Taylor. The Dolphins obviously can't give away Taylor as if he was a discarded suit in an outlet store. So anything less than a first-round pick wouldn't make it worthwhile for Miami. It's a steep price but perhaps the Broncos, Colts, Seahawks, Cowboys, or even the Patriots, could be enticed into giving up such a pick for the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. taken from Miami Herald article: http://www.miamiherald.com/1190/story/241141.html seriously if he would end up in a patriots uni i'll be pissed and you know itll either be there or the Colts cause he would want to go to a team who has the best chance winning the Super Bowl...just like Randy Moss....
dunno what the colts salary cap is but I could see him going there. The pats are fine without him. Hes too much of a hit to the cap for the pats to even take interest. this is dumb though, i could see the logic behind this pre draft (when taylors trade value wouldve been higher) then again this is the same guy who drafted a WR who injured himself celebrating a KO return with his first franchise pick. but i dont see it happening simply cause the fan base would explode unless they got a 1st rd pick from a HORRENDOUS team.
It would be dumb then again, maybe they think that his value is at an all-time high still, it makes me wonder how the fins could possibly get a #1 for him, when all it took was a fourth rounder to get moss
Honestly....i think it has to be done. There was talk about this last year when Saban left, that team needs to be rebuilt IMO. Defense has been the only bright spot and the one with the most trade value it Taylor. The only way they are gonna rebuild is through the draft (if they don't mess up). I could see it happening.....i'm almost sure he doesn't wanna be part of a rebuilding team again....
He's a good player, no denying that. But any team would be foolish to give up a first rounder for a guy who has already openly talked about retiring soon. Plus all his other usual bitching and moaning.
Maybe you guys are looking at this because we hate the Phins but as a Jet fan if we gave up a 1st or 2nd round pick to get Jason Taylor I'd be very happy. Say what you want but he is one of the biggest impact players in the league. Is he a bitch? Yeah but he is a dam good bitch....
suuuuure buddy... and can already hear Joe Rose crying.... oh and Taylor would NEVER come to the Jets....
