Cannizzaro is no dope. He'll realize that #29 for John Abraham is awful, really not that disputable.

Number 29 is pretty darn good to me and we dont have that 8m hanging over our head he was due. I wish John luck with the birds but me I just glad its all over. Lets focus on the draft now. Go Jets

Did anyone hear Cimini on with the wretched S Sommers last night? I was surprised.... Sommers did everything he could to cajole Cimini into trashing the FO, and Cimini didn't bite at all. Sommers on the other hand used the opportunity to display his total lack of sports knowlegde during the interview. He REALLY wanted Cimini to rip the Jets.... and reminded me of a street corner beggar holding an empty tin cup.

i assume someone on this board is listening, can someone please give us a summary when hes done, i, like most other message board addicts would like to know what he thinks because we cant listen at work. Along with that i find cannizero to be one of the most knowledgable and respected among all of the jet journalist, even MEshaun said he loved mark and said that he was the best, not that any of that matter now, but regardless i would love to hear what he has to say. Thanx!

It's not shocking that the idiots within the media (like Brandon Tierney right now) think this was a bad deal.

Mark Cannizzaro is the last guy to look to for your Jets news these days. If he's right, it's accidental. He's actually got the easiest job on the planet now. Nobody really expects any, you know, reporting from him.

Tierney wants to rip the Jets over this, but like Cimini before him last night, Canizaro didn't bite. Tierney said the Jets seem to have no plan, no north/south plan. Cannizaro shot him down, and said how much more north/south can you get, if they trade up for Leinart?

Tieney summed it up by saying he has a difference of opinion there.

Mike is 100% right...no too many people will bitch and moan if we do eventually trade up for Leinart...I think it will happen eventually...

    Summary of interview:

    1) Jets now have to move up to #2 and draft one of the franchise QB's.
    2) Jets should not move down and accumulate picks, get the main guy.
    3) Runyan Jets want bad.
    4) if they get Runyan, means they draft a QB or move down.
    5) Jets will be active the rest of the FA period.
    6) Said he's sick of these NFL drafts where they show the Jet fans with these Jet construction helmets on with Jet planes on top looking ridiculous.

Can any of these pundits and talking heads tell me where all the teams are that were going to give us a better pick and give Abe what he wanted?
(remember both of these had to get done or there would be no deal)

Atlanta would have caved and given #15. And if they didn't, you just keep him.

And if we keep him, then he plays for us this year (yaaay) and next year, unless we're willing to pay him, whatever, 10 or 12 or however many million for the top 5 highest ranked qbs, he walks, and we get nothing.

If we weren't going to sign him to a long term deal, then we either trade him now or get nothing for him.

If you keep him this year and next you eventually re-sign him.
