Don Mattingly will not be the next Yankee Manager

    This according to Joe DeAmbrosia during the ESPN Radio broadcast. He cites the Newark Star Ledger saying Mattingly isn't ready to take over and does not want to be the guy that follows Torre.

    The more time goes on the more and more likely it seems that Torre will be back as manager

    This will probably mean Torre comes back as Mattingly was the guy Steinbrenner wanted if Torre was fired. This also means Mattingly is probably out altogether. Nobody wants somebody who says they don't want the job.

    I don't dislike Mattingly,but imo he's like mush from bronx tale. don't want him as manager,infact i'd feel better if he was gone all together from the team

    There is never a "period" with the Yankees. Even if they do bring him back he could be fired by the end of the first week of next season.
