Well it was Texas pro-day today, and contrary to the popular belief Vince Young can throw from under center. Also check out the Mack Brown interview http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/9329030
i must say his 40 time was a little disappointing .. i ever realized marcus vick was fater than vince young i coulda swore young was faster. 4.6 isnt that what cutler runs too? not a big deal though.
So the guy can take a snap from under center, with no defenders in his face and without a defense to read. Wow, sign this guy up.
He also was the most efficient passer in all of college football this year, just because he can run he is no good.
did you even watch the last few rosebowls, Young tore up everyone! you cant tell me what he did isnt impressive
NFL | V. Young runs a little slower than expected Wed, 22 Mar 2006 15:29:04 -0800 ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports Texas QB Vince Young was timed in 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash Wednesday, March 22, on what is considered a fast track at the University of Texas in Austin, according to one NFL scout. According to the same scout, Young's overall workout was "fairly impressive," but the scout believed that Young was not asked to make certain drops and throws that he would have to perform in a private team workout.
NFL | V. Young throws well at Pro Day Wed, 22 Mar 2006 18:10:10 -0800 The Houston Chronicle reports Texas QB Vince Young made a variety of throws at his Pro Day Wednesday, March 22. He was able to complete some impressive deep throws to his wide receivers.
haha lol pennington cant throw deep. But i heard that Vince Young did throw deep but he only had easy passes and routes
He failed to mention that Young wasn't scheduled to run but when every one else ran he decided to do it. The reality is every one who runs at the combine have been training to run. The 4.4 you see weren't guys just lining up and poping a 4.4 they were training for it and Young wasn't. The guy is a competitor. I really don't understand the hatred for Young. He simply was the single best player in College football last year and that includes both Bush and Lienart. If Young and Lienart switched teams last year Texas isn't in the Rose bowl and USC wins the National Champoinship.
lol i don hate young. i wouldnt mind taking. but im not gonna lie is 40 time disappointed a little bit.. but i still think he is a good player
With all of the absurd criticism that Young has been receiving this offseason he is going to enter the draft with a chip on his shoulder. IMHO he will flat out have much better careers than Leinart and Butler.
I'd definitely take Young at #4, but I'd also take Leinart at #4. If both fall, well then, we just have to hope we take the right one. Young would certainly be fun to watch and seems, from what I've seen and read, to be closer to the "high character" model than Leinart who clearly has stars in his eyes.
