I was at the game today with my brother, and two friends. My friends were in shock as to how many people left when the game was 20-17. How pathetic is that? Kudos to any fan that did stay for the game. The stadium was actually louder when all the complainers left. The fans that were there for OT cheering their hearts out with me, my brother, and my friends, these are the true fans. It's truly a shame we got too many pessimistic old farts in Jet nation along with other dumb fans that really make the Jet fan nation look bad. Hey if all you're going to do is complain about how bad this Jet season is on every play, go find a new team, go find a new team.

I was there, I always stay til the end.
    Today-There
    Pats Game-There
    Monday night miracle-There

I'm sure their reason to catch that team they hate oh so much was reason enough to bail but me?
I wanted to see Clemens drive the winning TD...didn't happen but if it would have, I woulda been there.

This "real Jets fan" crap is getting tiring. The team is bad enough, but to have fans complaining about other fans at this point is just pathetic.

Well...if these guys we're complaining about stood behind their team NO MATTER WHAT, we wouldn't be saying anything. The fact that you guys can give up on a team, just because they are having a poor season is ridiculous.

    Go jump on someone's bangwagon.

Yea I gave up. I mean I only take the time out to read about the team, watch the games, and read up on there forums.

I've supported this team since the Coslet era, but thats not the point. The point is that it's sad that fans have to resort to talking trash about there own teams fans to make themselves feel better, or to get the mythical "real fan" badge. It's all the result of the miserable football team thats put on the field every week, which is easy to lose sight of apparently.

If the team gave people a reason to stay in their seats, they'd stay.

I noticed the same thing that people were leaving early and with the game being close really there was no reason to leave. But you cant be sure if they were leaving for a bathroom break before OT starts or moving down to get closer (which ive done in the past) I have to admit i do leave early when the game is out of reach. I mean wtf is the point when the jets are down by 20 with 3 mins to play?? Did i leave early in week 1. FUCK YEA im the one who has to drive out of the mess of a parking lot.

There were about 15,000 fans left in the stands for the overtime. That is pathetic. And a fan that goes to the games and arrives on time and does not leave early, particularly in a close game, has every right to criticize another fan. If you have somewhere to be Sunday night, give your ticket to someone else. It makes no sense to sit in the stands for three hours and then leave a tie game. Would any sane person go the movies and leave 10 minutes before the end of the movie???? Why is leaving a sporting event before the end acceptable??? I think it is awful. Why bother coming at all???

People leaving any game early is buschhhhh. If the game is a blowout I use 4th quarter to do my usual Sunday wind-down

The place was damn near empty to start with.

The parking lot remained pretty full long-postgame, I think people left early to watch the real football game that came on at 4.

Stay for what? To see another loss? Even if the Jets won, big deal they would be 2-7 and still stink.

If that happened when/if they had a winning record then it would be a different story but the game is meaningless and I could watch or listen to the rest of the game.

You Sir, do not deserve a ticket to the game. You represent what the OP is talking about.

Me too. End of the third quarter I moved from row 27 down to 6....and right on the 50. Stadium was empty, but that's nothing new. The ones that were there tried to make it loud on third downs for the Skins.

J!E!T!S! chant has gone to complete crap. That used to be the one thing fans of other teams respected us for, if only a little, now we can't even get that right.

I think your post is completely wrong. This thread wasn't made to make that person feel better, it is the truth. The Jets fans at the Meadowlands each Sunday SUCK. Bottom line. The Jets have no homefield advantage. Did you notice how clear the COOOOOOOLEY chant was yesterday? Pathetic. Then to hear how many left at 20-17 is even more pathetic.

Are you trying to tell me that having weak crowds has nothing to do with having a bad football team? I ask because you say my post is completely wrong. We never had crowds like this last year when the team was winning, now they're losing and fans are infighting. It's sad. Yea I heard the Cooley chant clear as day...think we would have heard it if the Jets were in contention for a playoff position right now? I highly doubt it, because the fans would have been in the seats.

This team does not have a winning tradition. It's not like the fans can chalk this up too a single off year and expect to get right back on track next season. We've all seen this before and not for nothing, it gets tiring. Anyone who sports a Jets hat or jersey, or even tells me there a fan at this point is a real Jets fan to me. Who other then a true fan would admit to supporting such a horrible team right now?

I wear my Jets hat with pride here in Eagles country, but I haven't gotten too and probably won't get to go to a game this season. Am I less of a fan because I can't get to the games? Is there some kind of hierarchy that I missed when I decided to be a Jets fan? Stay till the end > get to the game > watch at home > watch online > listen on the radio? Is group one the only group thats comprised of real Jets fans? If so we should expect a move coming soon, because a team that only has 10,000 real fans isn't likely to last very long.

I have had season tickets for 20 years and probably will have them for another 20. You know what, I am a huge fan, but I don't need other fans telling me when I can and can't leave a game. This team has provided their fans with only 2 home playoff games in the 20 years I've been a season ticket holder. I think a majority of fans have poured their heart and soul into this team, and gotten very little in return. I am still a fan but for you to call people out is ridiculous.

Why wait until the end of the game so you can stay and be dissapointed and then get stuck in the parking lot for 2 hours? You almost could see the way that game was going to end yesterday. You knew the Jets would only get a FG at the end to tie (do you ever remember the team getting a TD in a situation like that - down 3 the last drive of the game).

I like a rowdy home crowd as much as anyone, but face it, 1-8 teams provide very little to get rowdy about!
