At the Buckeyes' annual pro day, where draft eligible players workout for NFL coaches and scouts, Gholston ran a consensus 4.58-second 40-yard dash. That was about a half-second better than he had run last month at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. Even though a 4.6 is considered excellent for a defensive end, Gholston gambled that he would do better on his home turf after working for several weeks with OSU strength and conditioning coordinator Eric Lichter. if gholston or long isnt there, trade out with the cowboys, get a big wide out and a cb in the first round. we dont need mcfadden.
Lets get the guy. Since we lost John Abraham we haven't had great pass rush. We all know he was injured and wasnt there for key games but he was a good rusher.

True, but the Rams have too many injured players on their O-Line to not get Jake Long, because he could play Rt and LT, in case anyone else gets injured... I've also heard kicking him inside to guard could happen of someone is that desperate.
Mcfadden is a far better player. Gholston is the kinda guy whose great in these workouts but not as great on the football field. Mcfadden is the Jets guy, if he's still there, no doubt about it. Alot of you can play pretend that somehow ridiculously the Jets would choose Gholston over Mcfadden. Never happen in one million years.
McFadden over Gholston ?? Our defensive minded coach? Our high-character motto with this FO? His 15 fumbles? They play 12 games a season!! Good God.... McFadden over David Roach i can see (look him up), but not over a 6'4'' 260 pound beast who's 1st step is compared to and might be faster than Dwight Freeney's.
theyve taken care of the defense? we have one linebacker in harris that we know is the shit. we have jenkins on the dline. Ellis isnt getting any younger. Drob may or may not be on the team. And we have this pace guy who noone here ever heard of until last week. Id hardly say weve taken care of the defense
We need Gholston if we can get him. There should be no hesitation about making him a Jet if he is there at No. 6. Otherwise I vote for the CB from Troy. He's another Revis. Let's build with strength.
Yea Gholston or McKelvin (I dont trust Cromartie- Hes a combine freak) is the way to go Elite Defense + Elite Special Teams + Average Offense= AFC East Division
I have been saying that since the combine...he is going top 5 no doubt. He was already going to 7 or 8, than he had a moster workout at the combine and from the looks of a great workout at OSU Pro Day.
Really? what are you basing this off of? The only time you've been able to actually see him on the field was in college, and he dominated in college so you can't possibly be talking about that.
He was considered an underachiever in college. I don't know why some of you just don't get it. They're taking Mcfadden. It's all but done. Unless he's not there. Then you all will get your chance to overrate Gholston. But it's gonna be Mcfadden cause they're biggest needs now are offensive playmakers and offensive speed and they will jump at the chance to take the best player in the draft by far, with the largest upside at 6. And the whole place will erupt !!!

Chris Long going #1 overall isn't all but done-- its fucking mid-march.. nothing is all but done. I'm all but done rooting for any specific pick anymore, because i looked at the top 5 picks of last year and compared them to all the mock drafts and everyone was wrong, so i'm not making anymore predictions on anyone...
