It takes college wide receivers three years to adjust to the NFL. This guy never played receiver before. EVER. Yes there were some drops but there were also some great grabs and amazing plays after the catch. Things should be interesting with Smith developing more and Stuckey being on the field.
Smith was supposed to be our Randle El, but he shits his pants when he drops back and is hesitant to throw it... he's never going as far as the slot #3 WR... but i'd like to see his hands improve a little more. Practice on the jugs machine brad. Like Tory Holt does.
Any thing is an upgrade from mccariens i thought he was going to be great on this team but when he got here he showed nothing but he did have some nice catches but even uglier drops. Brad Smith to me is an upgrade and I would like to see Chansi Stuckey play more
Great Hand? Who said Brad Smith has the hands? He's dropped more BIG passes last year than McCairins did. Brad is a GREAT trick play guy and a great decoy but he's NOT our 3rd receiver. A 3rd down receiver needs to have GREAT hands and Brad doesn't quite fit that bill.
Great hands no... but he definitely is improving. Even though last year was a flop, you could say is that if anything good came out of it guys like Smith got more playing time and more experience. So hopefully he can compete with someone for the 3rd receiver spot at least.
Not really much to fill boots or Uniform... AORN, They both suck. They should forget about the trickery and just use Smith as a 4th/5th receiver.
Brad can drop them with the best of em, he should have no problem replacing McDrophands. Jets need to get real, they need to add some guys who can catch, Coles is never healthy anymore and Cotch is a #2 reciever at best, after them the Jets have nobody who can make plays at this position, they better run the ball for 200 yards a game if they stay with who they have now at reciever.
I give Brad Smith more credit than that. I can disappear on the depth chart too until I'm called in to drop a pass.
Coles may not be here for long. Anyways, we could use a #1 WR regardless. No WR on the board, however, appears to be worth our pick at 6 overall.
Its Brad 3rd year I think he will be a factor in the offense..If you watch Jets games have you ever noticed he makes just about every tackle on punt and kick off..He plays phenomenal special teams. That makes him pretty valuable in my eyes..He is a great athlete making an adjustment to a new position at the highest level of the sport. Thats not happening over night. He plays multiple positions and works his ass off..Brad Smith is a keeper in every sense of the word.
We need a bigger WR with better hands for third downs. Smith is ok, but his hands are not all that great. I say we draft someone like James Hardy in this year's draft.
First and foremost, no more QB for him. Make him a full time WR and either he gets better and or we get rid of him. He is not a QB or RB. He could become exactly what we need, a tall WR with good speed. He got some chances last year and dissapointed me by not making the tough catches. Its time to find out if this guy can play the position of WR
Just a gut feeling ... but I think Stuckey has a chance to leapfrog Smith on the depth chart .... That is if he stays healthy.
Stuckey was projected as a late first to second rounder had he not been injured. He has all the tools, just durability issues
I like Stuckey's chances better, too. I just hope we get to see it this year or he will be labeled a bust, also. Then again, Wesley Walker was the same type of player and he managed to overcome the injury bug.
