First off, I'd like to see a show of hands from anyone who heard a peep from around media that Andre Dyson was even on the Jets' radar. Because I didn't hear a thing.

This is the stuff that makes some of us frustrated with the impatience displayed in the Jets Forum during the offseason. The 'critics' here who tear their clothes and pull their hair, fuming over the fact that "No one wants to play for the Jets". Or maybe not fuming. Maybe enjoying every word of it.

Not that it matters, because in the end, for every woe-cryer who denounces the evils of a CS/FO that has been in place for a little over 3 months, something like this is GOING to happen. Because this is how these guys are going to run things. Close to the vest and not giving so much as an inch. Pundits be damned. And I'm loving every minute of it.

So, for the people who are getting a little tired of the undue criticism that's been doled out here of late, take heart... I think there's a lot more of this to come. The true mystery right now is how the coaching staff will be able to perform, but I'm not going to give myself high blood pressure worrying about it, either.

i will try and find it, but i saw that they were interested him and might have even met with him a while back from kffl.com
i was almost assuming they would sign him b/c of the lack of depth, but then there was a long wait till the signing

I'll note here that Al is not able to defend himself currently

And the veil of secrecy is a good thing; but at the same time, it's always fun to speculate. Rumors keep this site alive this time of year. Without unsubstantiated rumors, all we would have are cold, dried facts. Where's the entertainment in that?

I thought I saw something about a week ago that said there was some interest in him, nothing that said there was a LOT of interest, or that he was coming in for visits. But you're right, things are being done behind closed doors, and unlike the previous regime, none of us are sure what is going on.

Agreed, we have a solid group at CB, better than most teams int he NFL, I'll take 3 guys who can play solid over 1 awesome guy and 2 guys that are sub-par, I know I am being optimistic about Miller, but I like the kid and think he will be very good one day, also Barrett is solid, sure at times he can cough up the big play but overall pretty good

That is the way to do things. Behind closed doors. Don't let anyone hear anything and you could land your guy without a bunch of haters coming in and blaming the organization for ruining the francise.

I am not 100% sure what you are getting at...

Are you saying it doesn't matter who you have as long as the pass rush is good,

I think that though the draft we will build up our front seven by at least one playmaker that will add a great dimension, as of right now we are not far off from a good defense, I mean I am worried about NT right now but who knows what can happen between now and reg season game 1

Great post abyz. Tangini is a breath of fresh air from Hermway (aka Team Media Fluffer).

I have no problem at all with the rumors. This site would be a pretty stale environment this time of year without news/gossip from the team. However, I am also against the uncontrolled outflow of info that the last guys became famous for, Herm in particular.

You're not being overly optimisitic about Miller IMO. He's a future Pro Bowler. He led the ACC in INT's his freshman year. True freshman year too, no redshirt. He is a stud waiting to take off.

and no pass rush is any good without a secondary! You need a mixture of both and we are heading that way! Just be happy that our FO made a great move and stop being so negative.

When someone said last week that Ahmed Plummer has spoken with the Jets, I thought he would of been the option...Most, if not all of us preferred Dyson, but barely anything was mentioned in the papers about a visit, interview or mutual interest. Great post Abyz.

    I didnt hear crap.

But last year as we all know he was on our radar, he probably got a call from whoever, and said... Damn the jets showed interest in me last year and i stiffes them.

This year they are showing interest in me again and decided to sign, because of the dedication.

I remember last year someone complained about his height and weight.

I posted a thread on CB's his size and weight or either, the list was decently long. Ofcourse i was defending him as a CB in the nfl.

Im not to crazy about the guy but he is fast and has experience, and tough, just like mangini is looking for in a player.

But i am lil shocked tangini got this guy, this will help us out alot, and clears the path a bit more on the draft situation.
