Now that the draft is officially history, I can say that I'm generally pleased with the performance of the Jets' F.O. They moved around and netted better positioning than they would otherwise have had to make their picks from. Although I must admit that I was one of the many fans who were collectively in head-scratching mode when they picked Keller after moving up a couple of slots. Didn't really see who they were attempting to jump in front of to get him. But after having the time to digest and ponder the pick, I think that we may have indeed picked up that red zone threat that we badly needed in Keller. Time to move on.....there are still a ton of players who may make NFL rosters who weren't picked this passed weekend. I for one would like the Jets to make a play of J. Leman, LB for Illinois. Who else is out there that we should go after? Discuss.
Alabama WR DJ Hall would be a great pick-up. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2008/draft/players/13220.html
I am an avid Bama fan and would love for someone from the Crimson and White to graduate to the Green and White. However, Hall has a T.O. mentality with a fraction of the talent.
Patriots got the punter It seems either we dropped the ball on free agents after the draft or we didnt want many guys the Vikings easily cleared house and it looks like the Browns did a nice job as well. There was another team I saw with good pickups cant remember atm
i can't post link cuz i don't have 50 or more posts but this place is pretty up to date with UFA updates: nfldraftbible.com/Latest/2008-UNDRAFTED-FA-TRACKER.html
I know we got a SS and a DE http://www.jetscentral.com/ Cant find the link I read about the safety on
I'm a Bama fan also, and would love if the jets would take a look at DJ hall. He really could turn out to be a great receiver. His production alone is outstanding and when you consider the face that he had John Parker Wilson throwing him terrible passes all year his numbers make it even more impressive. I have met him socially a number of times and he has always been extremely polite and nice. From everything I have heard is that sometimes he falls in with a bad crowd, but with our veteran leadership we might be able to turn this guy around.
