I have been a fan since 1980 and I am as happy as the next guy that we got Brett Favre. But beware. This does not guarentee anything for us. It's a great PR move and could be more. Remember the EASports Madden curse. Whoever is on the cover usually gets hurt. I hope this is not the case for our QB. Plus he is being thrown into a system that he does not know and players he does not know.

No, it guarentees nothing. But I can tell you that yesterday was one of the most exciting days in my 40 years as a Jets fan. He looks like a man possessed, too. He wants to prove that the Packers made a huge mistake (which they did).

    Ted Thompson is so fired.

Yeah, guys, don't get too excited about the talent level of our new QB. He's on the cover of a video game.

TT did a good job building that team up and being way under the cap. This is his only major major error. I agree it will probably bite him on the ass though.

There is no bigger Pennington fan than me, but to have Favre, even for 1 season is too exciting to any true Jet fan

he's in a Packers uniform, on the Madden cover.
    that cancels out the curse.

wow, it doesn't guarantee anything? thanks for that genius perspective, I think the lot of us expected that Favre as a Jet would change the entire course of human history for certain. I know I personally thought it would end global warming, create a truce between Iran and Israel, and instigate the mainstream acceptance of NC-17 movies at major movie theatre chains. how disappointing.

I was very excited when we got Favre, and Yes I had huge expectations, But after watching that press conference did anyone else feel kind of sorry for him?
He looked like well, I'm here and Yea, this was number 4 or 5 on my list but Hey I will make the best of it...
I know it has been an exhausting few eeks but he did not seem genuinely excited or looking at it as a challenge almost like he had to do it or this would have been a complete waste of time..I have never been a darksider, I was trying to see the upside of this but I'm so nauseous know, after seeing that whole press conference, I would not be surprised if after 1-2 weeks of training camp he said My hearts not in it...And then we are in a real Jackpot, qb wise..

........and to add to that. Favre coming to us has raised our profile and should make us more of an attractive prospect for potential FAs.
Went to work today, a very happy Jets fan :jets:

Is anyone else scared that we are one injury away from having Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff and Erik Ainge as 1/2/3 on our QB depth chart?
