Cowboys QB reportedly will throw in practice Wednesday, be re-evaluated Tony Romo suffered a broken pinkie finger during the Cowboys' loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. According to a report by ESPN's Ed Werder, Brett Favre called Tony Romo to tell him to play through the pain of a broken pinkie if he can. Favre told Romo that if he can manage the pain, it's worth it to gut it out. Apparently Favre's words must be working, because the Dallas Morning News reports, Romo is going to throw in practice today and be re-evaluated. Favre once played through the pain of a fractured thumb to maintain his consecutive games streak and thinks Romo is tough enough to do the same. Romo wasn't reached for comment in the story, but the Cowboys, perhaps doing some early damage control, said having an injured pinkie finger is tough on a quarterback because it affects grip. According to the 'Boys, the other fingers can basically be chopped off and you'll be alright. Only kidding about that part, but if you hold a football you can see how having an injured pinkie can be a problem. So we'll see if Romo can play Sunday against the Rams. Maybe Jessica Simpson has some skin-care products that will help ease Romo's pain. If he can't go, Favre, who no doubt meant well, has set up Romo to look like a wimp. OK, well that's your Cowboys drama for the day. We'll move on to other things now, or at least until something else interesting comes out of Big D.
Good for him.... I hate to see star QB's get injured unless of course it's the QB playing for the team in Cheatsboro. Hopefully Romo can gut it out.
Don't worry, Tony Romeo, everyone looks like a wimp next to Brett Favre. Maybe you should start blocking on end arounds, too. I'm sure a broken thumb on throwing hand is a lot better than a pinkie injury, no need for you to think less of yourself.. Rest, and heal up, the old, grey headed, iron man continues on.
well if Romo can still grip the ball and throw with decent accuracy then he should play. the team needs him now.
Damn straight it's not right. Everyone knows that's not where the pinkie goes. Someone educate this boy about proper shocker technique.
Ahahaa    now thats funny! but back on topic. Hopefully Romo doesnt go, or at least takes a week or two off. Hell on SC today, they had some dumbass from the midwest on who had his pinky amputated cuz he broke it and he was going to miss his senior football season, so he decided on his own to cut it off. only going to miss a week...
Favre is a wily ol' vet huh? Goad him into playing against a surging Rams team and hopefully keep him out longer than 4 weeks once he reinjures it! Brad Johnson is a good enough QB that that team should still be able to do fine with Marion and Co.
i was hoping he would be out forcing the cowboys to give barber the ball more. get me even more points in fantasy than he has been getting.
