I see this time and time again in game threads. Poster #1 requests an inactive player, like clemens should be bit in (either at the end of a blowout by the jets or against the jets). Posters then reply with "He is inactive" and "What part about being inactive don't you understand?" FACT: Just because your inactive DOES NOT mean that you can't play. For example, if the jets, leading 23-3 against oakland wanting to play clemens in the 4th, they could, they just couldn't put Chad or Ramsey back in if he was to get hurt. In which case Brad Smith would finish the game. Remember when clemens came in against Jax and Buff? He was inactive then too. So to everyone that thinks inactive players can't play, just realize that THEY CAN.
I'm pretty sure thats wrong. Only the 3rd string QB can be considered Inactive but can still play. If you notice, he is the only "inactive" player ever suited.
It is. The 7 Inactive players don't even suit up. But, the part about the 3rd QB is right. 3rd QB can only come in if 1st/2nd don't return for rest of the game.
Q Correct. If everyone recalls back in '99 the reason Mirer didn't come in until the 4th qtr was b/c he was listed as the 3rd QB and had he come in and gotten hurt we had no one else to play so tupa played until the 4th when Mireer came in but as it turned out Tupa did a better job than Mirer and we would have likely won if Tupa stayed in.
A note on that game about Tupa... First play was a TD stike... Should've stuck with him... and about the 3rd quarterback is listed as the "emergency qb"
i thought they should have stuck w/ tupa even with the next couple of games. does anyone remember when he was a qb w/ Arizona?
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... Sorry Rob-B, that is incorrect. Now if you would've just said that it was strictly for the QB position ya might of won what was behind Curtain #3......
