it depends , im going to go on my new mock where i have us taking cutler at #4 and lendale at #9. I then have us taking Mangold Or Jean-Gilles with our #2
and none of them is really good starter material. I hate to say it but Curtis is washed up, and is more suited in a Marshall Faulk-like role. Blaylock has been a backup his whole career, and Houston is a 6th round pick who was just average when he played.
true, i can dream cant i, but if we stand pat which i doubt i would like 2 see, cutler 1 and gilles or mangold 2
I'd wait on the RB until next year. With Martin, Houston and Blaylock, we should be OK, since we aren't going to be near good enough for a playoff run. Rebuild the O line, get the two or maybe even three rookies we might start a year under their belts. Heck, we might be picking early enough next year to get Peterson.... who many think is a better RB than any in this draft, as an every down back.
not a bad plan, we dont need a rb this year but it would be nice to grab one now while the opportunity there
I have to admit, I haven't seen much of Addai, with the exception of the senior bowl and the practice week. With that caveat, I didn't like what I saw. His forty time doesn't seem to translate to "football speed" and I thought he was hesitant going into the line, and then went down on first contact.... he didn't look like a guy that will break many tackles. I was much higher on him before the senior bowl.
i always thought addai could be a big time back at lsu, as far as im concerned he never got to his potential. he WILL be a good 3rd down back, a good change of pace type back. he blocks extremely well and can catch the ball out of the backfield. i do not ever see him being an every down back.
