I've uploaded the interview that we did last night with Newsday's Jets beat reporter Erik Boland.

It's 52+ commercial-free minutes of nothing but Jets talk in MP3 format.

Each and every pick is discussed in great detail, along with discussions about Chris Baker and other behind-the-scenes stuff.

You can listen to the audio at:

As always, thanks and I hope that you enjoy.

P.S. I know that Koz asked for a transcript, so I'd appreciate it if someone who listens can type up some notes and reply to this posting.

    Re: Erik Ainge
David Cutcliffe was his QB coach who also coached Peyton and Eli Manning. Cutcliffe was asked if Ainge compared to either of them in any way and he said that he has excellent field vision - the ability to see the entire field much like the Mannings. He said this is a trait that you either have or you don't, it's not something that's coachable and it's one of the more difficult traits to come across. Says Ainge can make all the throws and arm strength will definitely NOT be an issue.

I hope he's not just Bullshitting to make himself look better. If Ainge is half of what Peyton is, we have a new QB in 2 years.

Well he was only comparing that one trait, so I wouldn't take it as him making a full comparison of the two QB's.

edit: That being said, I've been very high on Ainge for a while now. From what I've seen he seems to be a field general, has good pocket presence, throws well on the run and does well in pressure situations. I believe he could be a very good NFL QB.

Granted...I only caught highlights of this kid, but what I do see, is great pocket presence, posture and great vision on the field. How that translates into the NFL is something I'm gonna look forward to seeing. In regards to arm strength, there were some passes that could've been pick-six'd (depending on which side of the argument you may want to take) but he was able to squeeze them in between defenders. Not to take away from Ainge, but his receivers made a LOT of great plays in his highlights. I think if he could develop his arm strength we may have something here.
