The article doesn't state Dyson would be benched, i'd bench Barrett before I would Dyson, who to me is still a solid Corner...But it looks like Revis has already taken the Nickel role. Good stuff.

I agree that before i bench Dyson i would Barret, but then it did also mention that Barret has had a sensational ST and mayby they are making the decision purely based on ST.

  3. I'm curious to seehow Miller fits in when he gets back. He himself was having a helluva camp.

Miller and Revis working out long term would be quite the fast, physical duo.

Well, I don't know what the status of Miller's legal issues are, but I do think the FO might be planning for a suspension at some point this season. I know he was noted as a standout in camp a couple of times this summer but he would have to be a completely different player than the Justin Miller we saw last season for him to make any commotion on the depth chart at this point.

I really hope Barrett doesnt pull a KC opener. Here's to him at least copping a pick. It's better to ease Revis in rather than throw him in the deep end. He'll make a play in the 4th.

The combo of Revis and Miller would get burnt deep quite often

Don't agree. Revis in college was rarely burned and his appetite since he has came into the fold suggests he will fit in seamlessly. I won't be surprised to see him start against NE. Miller is still a work in progress but has steadly improved.

Miller's problem isnt getting burned deep, It's like Dyson, giving too much underneath cushion at bad times.
(The Bad TD Dyson gave up in Minnesota last year is a perfect example...)

Miller can turn and run with anyone in the league.

Hes our lone pro bowler....As long as he is able to return kickoffs for us and help us gain great field position I want him on the team. He may not be the wisest CB(Often tackles the player instead of wrapping up or bumping a reciever farther for more yds) but hes still kind of raw.

Brad Smith and Leon Washington may have looked well in kickoffs thus far BUT they dont contain the quick burst Justin Miller does.

I do too. In fact, we're in pretty good shape with our secondary in general.

But now, I'm also thinking this morning (always a dangerous thing) while I'm reading the Star-Ledger sports section concerning the Giants' injuries and the article points out how upset Tom Coughlin is with his secondary being decimated and banged up with injuries.

I'm thinking it's quite possible that the Giants will use Saturday night as a "scouting observation" to check out anybody on our team we may cut. What better first-hand "live combine" can you get? If I were Coughlin, I'd be looking closely at Manny Collins, for example, so we have to really be careful who we cut and what we do with them (practice team or not) with our DB's. The Giants have zero depth right now in that category and will definitely be on the prowl.

Good call 227. Sometimes having too much talent at one position leads to second guessing our situation. I bet tanna and Mangini are having real probs deciding which way to go with this. Can we realisticaly keep our entire DB corps?

No, not really. There are going to be some tough decisions being made. But the Star-Ledger did say this morning that the Jets released SS James Ihedigbo... not somebody we should be really concerned about I would think.

  15. Good point about the suspension.

In terms of Miller's development: Seems like every TC he performs better and better and this is the second year in a row he has been extremely impressive during it. It's quite evident he has the talent, to be successful at ccorner..and he just needs to put it all together.. he's still very young. We will see.

That's something nice about having a stud like Rhodes behind them. The corners can afford to play aggressively, as long as Rhodes and the Coleman of old are back there...

Dyson has been in the doghouse all camp. He was by far our best corner last year. I wonder if Mangini had a problem with Dyson not being able to go in the playoffs last year.

Behind the scenes, you never know what happens. Maybe Mangini thought he could take an injection and be ready to play but Dyson decided against it.

I just dont understand why Dyson is in the doghouse. He was very good last year.

Cedric Houston was another one who was always in Manginis doghouse.
