When will the restructuring of his contract be announced. It is less than an hour until 6. Isnt that the deadline?

    Moved back to 10:00 now.

So a deal for Pennington has to be made by 10:00.

    So confusing. :)

Don't get your hopes up, I'm expecting them to delay it to Wednesday at the end of the night.

This has gotten so ridiculous that I've become pessimistic about the new calendar year ever starting.

The Chad thing does not have to be final by 6......I don't think.

it is my understanding that free agency starts at 6 but it does not mean that all relases and cuts must be made. Chad is under contract, he can still be cut during the f.a. period right? They could decide in a week if they want.

No, FA starts at 12:01. Penny's 3million roster bonus kicks in at the start of FA. It has to be done by then.

The 6pm deadline is for teams to get under the cap. But is was pushed back to 10pm.

All cuts must be made by 10 PM, and then teams will have an extra two hours to restructure and renegotiate any contract to get under the cap. Pennington's renegotiated contract must be completed by 12:00 AM.
