I think that he will be cut because there is no point of keeping him around as a back up that will get injured. I think Brooks is a servicable back up and should be kept around, but chad is gone.

If we restructure Chad, we have to still pay him 3 or 4 million dollars in his restructured contract

If we cut him, we don't pay him anything. Sure the cap hit is 12 mill, but we are already paying him 9 mill plus the 3 mil roster bonus equals 0! So why pay 4 mil for a backup.

I think he will get cut, too much money to keep him around

So this is a 'what do you think will happen' thread and not a 'what do you want to happen' thread? I, for lack of a better word, WANT him cut. Yes I likED the guy and thought we finally had our QB of the future but we don't. As much as I did like him I more so want the JETS to succeed ten fold. He is done here. Let's move on. Let's take the hit now. Let's finally do something that may bring us a winning franchise for years to come and not the best way to skate by next year.

Wow! I'm surprised at the number of guys who think he'll be cut. I'm thinking Chad settles for $1-3 million and is tickled pink.

From everything I am reading CP is looking at right around 3mil a year. But liek we have all seen it could be more in line with 2mil a year with lofty incentives. But if I were Chad seeing what is going on with the O-Line I woud go for a higher number and screw the incentives. The way it is looking CP could be in line with a David Carr year I am sorry to say...(and we all know if that happens he will only last a couple games)

    Wow 22-23-21, pretty even.

I think he will be cut, although I hope not.
