11/6/2025 Colts 7-2 - #32 selection 12/8 8-5 Vs. Falcons (in Germany) W Bye week @chiefs L Vs. Texans @Jaguars L @SEAHAWKS Vs. 49ers Vs. Jaguars @Texans Cowboys 3-5-1 - #46 selection 12/8 6-6-1 Bye week @Raiders W Vs. Eagles W Vs. Chiefs W @Lions L Vs. Vikings Vs. Chargers @Commanders @Giants The Colts schedule is brutal. 10-7 isn’t crazy. They’ll lose to the Chiefs and Seahawks. I’d guess they split the 4 remaining division games but I’ll get them 3-1. The 49ers is probably a loss. That’s 11-6 at best. The Cowboys only seem to be able to win at home. They’ll beat the Raiders. Lose to the Eagles, Chiefs, Lions. I’ll give them both the Vikings and Chargers games. Split the division games at the end of the year. 7-9-1
If we can get the Colts in the mid 20s and Cowboys in the low 40s that’s a big win. And then assume we end up somewhere on 3-5 range. Two picks in the top 25 and three in the top 40 would be a real nice jump start to a rebuild. I actually think the Colts will do well though. Like 12-5. Better chance of the Cowboys completely falling off IMO. That defense is still wildly broken. They added a DT and an LB that has struggled in coverage the last year, neither of which help their biggest weakness.
Great thread. Even though I like the Colts, at least I will be happy for the Jets draft pick positioning.
I didn’t think they were winning very many games anyway so even while I agree with you I think we still end up with a pick in the low 40s, hopefully high 30s.
To me, simplistically, best case for the Colts is Division winners 25-28. I don’t see them winning the conference. If they go wild card on some fluke is 20-24 worst case. We should be getting a top starter in a position of need. It will be massively interesting to see when the QB run starts. Jags technically are only one game behind, but Trevor is not showing he can pull wins off consistently.
Jags still have the Titans twice and the Jets, on their schedule, Colts already had their 2 against the Titans and don't play the Jets. They also play head to head twice so a split there and I think it will be pretty close on who takes the AFC South.
As of the start of week 11: 5. Jets 32. Colts 37. Jets 44. Cowboys Really need the Colts to start sucking but I don't think it's gonna happen. They're quite for real for as long as Taylor is healthy.
I could see the Colts pick being in the high 20s all said and done, hopefully they fall off next year like the Commanders this year.
The Colts are currently picking 18th and that position probably gets better for the Jets with Jones done for the year. Sucks that the dude got hurt again, but they’re currently not even in the playoff picture at the moment and have a tough final 4.
On a 3 game losing streak and a 6th round pick at QB, it could become a very good pick by the seasons end
I feel bad for my adopted team Colts but saving grace for me as a Jets fan is our high pick in next years first round.
How dumb were the Colts to go all in on Sauce Gardner lol. They were lucky to have that start wins over some of the worst teams in football and the Broncos win should’ve been a loss if not for that offsides penalty.
These picks could be the first 4 picks of the draft and it feels like the Jets would find a way to make a complete fucking disaster out the situation. I am fatigued on this team after nearly forty years of this shit. @Jonathan_Vilma This is a good thread and terribly sorry to bring it down with my complaining I just needed to let it out. Thanks for listening.
You’re not wrong though Bad teams are bad for a reason…and a huge part of that is the inability to identify, select, and develop talent. We suck at all three. Funny how teams like Balt and Pitt can pick in the back half of the draft consistently and still find very good players, while teams like Cleveland and us could have top 10 picks year in and year out and still fuck it up. We’ve drafted top three top 5 QBs in Sanchez, Darnold, and Wilson, and none of them found any sustainable success here…Sanchez was never very good just carried by a stacked team, Darnold showed pretty clearly that we were more the problem than he was, and Wilson is just pure shit. And then shit, just recently we drafted a CB at 4 (found him), he made All Pro (developed him?), and STILL we convinced ourselves that it was “in our best long term interest” to trade him away. We have done this time and time again. And then we sit and complain how we continue to suck. It’s mindboggling
Agreed. But not quite as dumb as the Jets for spending the 4th overall on a corner that doesn't intercept passes and will never be physically built to tackle.
I've given this a lot of thought, mind you. The problem with these perennial "Top o' the draft" bottom dwellers is this: ALL these teams "act" like one guy is going to magically fix the entirety of their problems. That coupled with they almost always take a swing on "maybe's." They always go for these guys that might turn into something guys like the Zach Wilsons or Vernon Gholstons. Instead of looking at their actual FOOTBALL FILM, they consistently go to things like pro days and the combine, get enamored with what could be vs. what they've actually done on the field. Or, in Darnold's case, they essentially threw a rookie out there on a team devoid of talent and expected him to take up the slack etc. And, as you aptly pointed out, "we" keep doing it over and over and over again. This upcoming draft is a great example. Neither of these QB's being talked about is even a moderately "sure thing." In my opinion, if you threw Mendoza in the 2024 draft, he would be rated LOWER than Bo Nix. Not sure about Moore, again, because he's so raw. THAT is why the NY Jets etc. consistently keep knocking at the top 10 in the draft. They have GOT to stop over drafting players. It's a mindset and until they figure it out they are going to consistently suck. The ONLY teams that can get away with over drafting are the ones who have HC's like Shanahan, McVay, Harbaugh(s). Even in Minnesota, really...J.J. McCarthy? If he doesn't work out, like yesterday, that decision to let Darnold walk will likely end up costing either Kwesi Adofo-Mensah or Kevin O'Connell or BOTH their jobs.
