Does anyone know for sure how many the Jets will have in the upcoming draft? I was under the idea they would have 3, but Lucas continually says they have 9 overall picks, which would be mean 7, plus the third rounder for Revis, plus one compensatory pick.

No one knows until the March meetings. While contract amount and playing time come into the equation I don't believe they have let it be known what the entire formula is so it could be anywhere from 1 pick to 4.

Everyone's expected 4 picks, but who did we lose to give us those 4? Landry for sure, but all the others are scrubs.

Landry should be a 4th comp, Devito maybe a 5th, Bell and Slausion should be 7ths

I've seen two contradictory pieces of info on the web regarding compensatory picks. One said the Jets would get 4 (one in the 4th, one in the 5th and 2 in the 7th) for 11 picks. That author said that if Keller had been able to stay healthy the Jets probably would have gotten another pick for him probably in the 5th round.

The other article contradicted that and said that the largest number of compensatory picks a team could get was 4, I believe.

Keller as well. Yeah he got injured, but he got a decent deal with Miami.

    What about Greene?

Either way, a team cannot get more than 4 comp picks. I just hope one of our picks is a 4th rounder

We need a list of players who got their old teams 4th rounders..

I just don't see us getting one for Landry.

Neither Keller nor Greene met the minimum playing time of 20%. Once again the % is based on past years, it may change this year but still don't think either will even be close.

Landry got a $6 mil yr contract, why wouldn't we get at least a 4th?

I'm no sure how it works which is why I'd like to see a list of the players. Landry did have a decent season and a good contract, so hopefully we do get some good picks.

    Four is the max

We lost Landry Slaussen Greene Keller and Bell as UFAs and I believe all the guys we signed...Colon Peterman the other Landry Winslow etc had been released and were not UFA signings...so we should get the max four

Way too complicated to predict rounds....hopefully one fourth is in the mix

I found a great speculation piece on this issue. It goes into much more depth, but here are the conclusions:

    http://thejetsblog.com/bga/bga-2014-draft-picks-rundown/

So Landry a 4th, DeVito a 5th, and Bell and Slauson gives us 2 7ths most likely.

Thanks for the info. I had forgotten DeVito...a nice pick for a UDFA from Maine

Picking twice in rd 3, 4, and 5 is awesome. I know I sound like a broken record but this draft is going to be very exciting for Jets fans, moreso than I can ever remember.

Good to have a full slate of picks. We need to start hitting on those mid rounders to really make progress.

Last year 4 teams go 4th round compensatory picks

Ravens- likely for Ben Grubbs OG who signed with NO
49ers- likely for Josh Morgan WR who signed with WSH
Lions- likley for Eric Wright CB who signed with TB
Falcons- likely for either Kelvin Hayden CB who signed with Chicago or Ovie Mughelli FB who signed with STL

Landry compares to them but he did get hurt so he could be a 4th, DeVito as well but more likely a 5th

Teams that 5th round compensatory picks

Dolphins- Kendall Langford signing with St. Louis
Ravens- Jarrett Johnson signing with San Diego
Packers- Matt Flynn signing with Seattle
