To me, unless someone drops to 16 that you'd never expect to, the 1st round should be used on one of two positions: WR or OLB. My ideal scenario that I've mentioned here before would be throw a boatload of money at Cliff Avril and then go get Malcolm Floyd in the 1st round. Regardless, even if that doesn't happen and a guy like Mercilus or Upshaw is the pick, I still think two of our three picks in rounds 2-4 should be offensive lineman. Even if you bring back all 5 of our offensive starters from 2011 (I hate Wayne Hunter as much as the next guy, but as a backup tackle you could do worse), I think the team would be in good shape with those 5, Rob Turner and two draft picks. Whether Sanchez is the guy or not, the offensive line is the key for this entire team's success. Even if you play Sanchez or the next guy with kid gloves and throw the ball 15 times a game, the offensive line has to improve in the run game as well just to keep the defense off the field and give the team a chance to win ugly, close games. So, the guys that I'd be targetting, broken down into 2 tiers. I think we need a guy from each (obviously if you go OG first, target an OT second and vice versa): 1st Tier Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia (6'5, 348) Brandon Washington, OG/OT, Miami (6'4, 320) Kelechi Osemele, OG, Iowa State (6'5, 347) Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State (6'6, 320) Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida State (6'5, 307) Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin (6'4, 312) 2nd Tier Andrew Datko, OT, Florida State (6'6, 321) Bobbie Massie, OT, Ole Miss (6'6, 325) Matt Reynolds, OT, BYU (6'5, 310) Levy Adcock, OT, Oklahoma State, (6'5, 322) Lucas Nix, OG, Pitt, (6'6, 310) Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern St (6'3, 324) I'm sure I'm missing some guys and some may have them ranked differently but I thought this would at least be a good conversation starter.
