To me, this looks like the line - inexperienced and without a veteran leader for much of the half. The backs look okay when the line gets a push.

I say give the line time to gel - a few games at least - before posting about how we have no running game.

Blaylock has like 21 yards on like 10 carries, why is he the starter?

    Barlow should be made starter

Blaylock was awful vs the Titans, with less than 2ypc. He's not starting material. Other than Martin, Barlow is the most proven and talented back on the roster.

If he learns to hit the hole harder he could really be a good running back because he has some good moves in the open but he uses them before he even gets to the line. That is something Ceddy and Kevan do very well.

Third on the motion... Blaylock needs to hit the inactive list and Houston needs to get in there. Barlow looked like he could be a decent stopgap but not the answer. Blaylock looked like total cow turd.

Did you guys SEE the line push on running plays the Titans got? Jim Brown wasn't gaining a ton of yards.

Where the hell is Cedric Houston, he's always looked like a better player than Blaylock.

I like two main running backs.
Blaylock on plays that could be passes or running.
Barlow on knock them down, bully runs.
Obviously the Jets faced a very good run defence today.
Here's to hoping that the offense is able to work out the things that kept the run game from being as successful as I know it should be.

    Things to work on:
Kicking game, Running game, and Lead protection.
...A new supplementary to the playbook entitled, "Brad Smith and Third Downs"

A good run D + no push from an inexperienced line = Blaylock HAVING to make a move or two behind the line of scrimmage.

I'm not a big fan of blaylock, don't get me wrong, but I can't understand all the really harsh comments following this game. The line needs time to come together - they pushed the D line off the the line few times. It's not like Barlow lit them up when he was in there!

you maybe be right to certin extent but i also saw a rb dance behind the line on everyplay then fall to ground everytime someone breathed on him. blaylock is a bum i saiod it last year the guy is product of KC great oline.. he couldnt find a open hole if it was right there in his face.

It's difficult to blame Blaylock for his suckiness today, he's really not a runningback who can function without good blocking. Let's just say that Blaylock isn't going to be breaking many tackles going though the middle of the field, that's all.

Barlow is a better fit for this offense right now because he doesn't need to cut back and take the ball to the outside to be successful like Blaylock does. Until the offensive line is able to seal off the outside for Blaylock, Barlow should be getting the carries.

Blaylock doesn't have to go...But as a starter, ehh, I think not...I did not like his stutter-stepping...Catching the ball out of the backfield and on draw-plays is where he's suited IMO, in other words, a 3rd down back...

I liked what I saw from Barlow...Some power and the ability to break it to the outside...

Barlow will see the majority of the carries against the Pats, write it down. He was brought here to start and is still learning the system. From what I've read he is the best best pass-protecting back of the bunch but he needed some more time with the system.

He will have some fumbles but when healthy he has legit starting RB talent and even more important he's got something to prove this year.

Give 'The Chad" a running game and this could be a fun season.
