Where are you? Do you still play for this team? You've made maybe... 1 good play this season? You've disappeared... no wonder our defense stinks... we're playing 11 vs. 10 on most downs.

  2. The whole defense is garbage...and frankly so is the coaching staff.

Our defense doesn't believe in this system and it shows on the field.

Bad Tackling, Players oop, just bad.

Not the players... It's Sutton and the play-calling...

Where the hell is the blitz??!! It's NEVER called!!!!!!

So the Hobson sack waaaaaaaaas???? .

If you watch the games you'll see we actually blitz often, problem is they get blocked way too often.

It's not just the blitz, the players in coverage are consistently off the receivers, this is a very conservative scheme. Last year the scheme was much more aggresive with guys being left on islands. One thing is for sure I have never seen Mangini so ticked after a loss

Donnie Henderson? Call on line 1.......

This team also lacks SIZE on the DLine. BT is too light in the ass to play DE and simply not effective enough to play OLB. They should have paid Abraham for all the production BT has provided.

Dump the Fckn 3/4 already!!!!!! If nothing else, play some variation of the old "46" defense and just send everybody...

    Pathetic!!!

I think the D is now trying to just keep plays in front of them and keep the score. I believe by design they are trying not to give up the big play, but we don't have the players to play like that, either play with a four man rush or press and blitz 6. It looks like guys just want to fill assignments up front, instead of attacking...... I think it's hurting Bryan.

I'm tired of seeing us blitz 5 and play some type of cover D with the whole middle of the field open. I would much rather make our DB's cover forever or blitz 6-7 and make the QB find the open receiver plus make a perfect throw in under 3 seconds.

It's not the 3-4 but rather the whole approach. You can't allow the offenses to dictate the game. Every time they throw I cringe knowing it's going to be caught.

We had some pressure at times today, but the team looks heartless. Our secondary needs to make some frigging plays. Look at the last TD pass on the goal line, there were 4 guys sitting around the TE, yet he was wide open. It's one thing to play a scheme, it's another to play brainless football.

Either way, Thomas is horrible. I even said that last year. I thought all his sacks last year were SOOO soft. He plays with no fire. Atleast Vilma, Ellis, Hobson, and Barton play with some heart. Bryan Thomas cant get past 1 guy on the Oline and was the biggest waste of money. I am still so pissed we didnt trade up for Woodley and try to get Harris either later or even trade up for him too.

Changing to the 4-3 wouldn't fix anything

I'm not sure, but I think he's out of the league now... Really a shame, we haven't had ANY attitude on D since he was here...

Remember that, when he was coaching our D, and we had that big scuffle with the Giants in TC? You need an attitude like that on defense.... When you do, your players GET THERE when they blitz... When you don't, the get close, bump into the OL and wave an arm in the air.... I really believe that attitude makes all the difference in the world....

    Ding!

Too conservative on both sides of the ball. Too conservative by not going for it on 4th down. No onside kick (even though they got the ball back- it was failure to take a risk, and they had less time and TOs left when they got the ball)' The entire philosophy is too conservative, on offense and defense, which plays on its heels.

it wouldnt fix anything...it would fix the entire defense. we dont carry the right guys to play whats being forced out there. every one but the coaching staff sees this. can Dslob play the 3-4? yes...but he wont be productive in it...same with vilma and the rest of the front 7. they will need to make MAJOR changes in the defensive personnel in the offseason or they will have to play a scheme that fits who is on the roster.

square pegs and round holes dont go together....

Maybe Belichick took his revenge by giving the tapes with the stolen signals to all the other teams. They probably had made a backup of the one they did with the video camera that was seized. Of course those tapes would be useful only if the Jets coaches lacked the imagination to change the signals which wouldn't be too hard to believe when Mangini is being so stubborn to change a defense or a QB that are not working.

You are just being very naive, in the 4-3 we would still have absolutely no pass rush, and this is after taking weeks to get used to the 4-3 again (and that is if we even know defensive plays for the 4-3), we would still get overmatched in the trenches and we would still suck.

This isn't a schematic issue it is a talent issue.
