http://www.jetsdaily.com/2009/09/every-mark-sanchez-pass-week-2.html Enjoy. Every throw (except for one) is on there. For some reason, part of the video wasn't working for me, so I lost one throw. At least it was an incompletion.
Awesome, thanks Mack. That TD pass was a great pass. Just enough touch to get it over the defender and into the only spot it could have gone.
Sanchez has a full toolbox and seems to know when to use the right tool for the job. I've been nothing but impressed so far. The only thing that worries me sometimes is he tends to hold the ball out in the open when scrambling sometimes. That's going to get stripped pretty easily if he isn't more careful.
Thanks mack, great job with that yet again. I missed Sanchez trying to find Belichick after the game so I'm glad you threw that in there.
Schotty seemed to like that quick pass to Stuckey a fair bit. It worked a few times. It looked like if we had a bigger more coordinated receiver in the endzone there would have been another TD pass. I saw alot more separation between our receivers and the DBs this game than last year.
that really is the one bad habit i don't like. I hope Cavanaugh is telling him to put two hands on the ball.
Who the hell scouted Sanchez and said his arm was questionable? This kid has a cannon! I couldn't be more happier with every single aspect of his game. Combine his talent with his dedication and lets pray durability and I just don't see how he's not going to be a success. This is a match made in heaven.
Few things I noticed, one is that Chansi Stuckey really does not have the whole package. He's like the anti-Cotchery, quick, fast and minimal balance and body awareness. Hopefully he gets his act together and can do the simple things like getting both feet down on the sideline when he is not in contact with the defensive player as he goes out of bounds. He had two catchable balls thrown at him in the endzone and he didn't come down with either of them. That's going to have to stop. Another was that Sanchez stayed in the pocket much more often against the Pats and only was pressured from his left from approximately the area that Faneca was supposed to be controlling. The fumble on the first play was because Faneca's man slipped inside of him and got a straight rush at Sanchez from the blind side. That can't happen. Faneca got to the ball and covered it, which was a veteran play - made easier by the fact that he had nothing else to do at the moment because his man was draped all over Sanchez. Also Sanchez seemed to be really rifling the ball compared to the game against the Texans. He had some good throws in the Texans game but almost every throw he made against the Pats was a quick laser strike.
I don't know if I'd call Chansi's first touchdown opportunity a "simple thing." If he had been able to drag that toe, it would have been a great catch. His second opportunity was inexcusable though, regardless of what Dan Dierdouche had to say about Sanchez's throw. Stuckey just wiped out while he was wide open- that just can't happen. This is the second time Stuckey has tripped up going after a ball. During the Texans game, Sanchez threw a really pretty fade Stuckey's way. I'm not sure if he was tripped up by the man guarding him, but it was a pass right where it needed to be. It's clear that Stuckey needs to work on his body control and balance. Fortunately, he has a wide receiver across from him who's been in the league for a few years with superb body control. Cotch will take him under his wing and coach him up. I hope.
Thanks again Mack! Great vid. While Stuckey should have had the second TD chance, the first one would have been a great catch. Overall I love his production. He is great after the catch and not afraid to take the hit over the middle. A good number 2 for us. Right now we are blessed with four guys (Cotch, Stuckey, Leon, and Keller) who can really make alot happen after the throw.
i just want to say, thanks for putting this together. I will be watching this video quite a few times today. yes i get that bored at work sometimes.
I thought the same thing, especially with the sack he took towards the end of the game. He had the ball hanging out there on the end of his hand with a defender too close for my comfort. That will get coached out of him though, if that defense can't do that in practice than nothing can!
I believe the arm strength knock was more on how his deep balls float. He seems to have plenty of velocity on his short and intermediate passes. I'm trying to remember any 40+ yard completions. All I can think of is the preseason one to Clowney, but I don't recall if that hung up there or not.
THe Knock is more because it is not a Stafford or Cutler tyoe arm. he is fine in that area, but entering the draft people will try to find any little thing they can to bash a player. Mark and make all the throws and all of them with good Zzip on the ball.
