    In case you missed it:

Normally, I dismiss Cimini, but this time he used numbers. Salient numbers. Do you say, fuck numbers, it's Cimini, I still dismiss it, do you say, that genuinely worries me, or do you say CHad Henne sucks. Or do you say something completely different?

Personally, I said all three in that order.

miami sucked in 2 minute drills and just took a qb in the first round.
i'm leaning towarsd qb play as the major factor for this

A lack of talent maybe? And really, it's not like we have been burning up the scoreboard.

I don't have a great deal of confidence in the G&P with the talent we have, but we'll see what the coaches can get out of these guys. One thing I'm pretty sure of, we can't be any worse on offense than we were last season.

my issue is more with the gushing that rex is doing about how great he is when the numbers tell you that HIS group was not very good.

why it wasnt very good is up for debate, i say its because they were a predominantly running team who did not have quick strike capability. HOWEVER that really doesnt matter. what does matter is that the hc is out there bullshitting everyone, ONCE AGAIN.

Colts and Saints tops in the league and Dolphins last in the 2 minute drill. Nobody thinks those numbers have to do with offensive personnel rather than the CS????????

QB play is a major contributor

What the Hell is he suppose to say " He's just a average coach, has never done anything with the 2 miniute and can't wait to find out"?

I wouldn't put too much into this stat. If you are up or down big with less than 2 minutes to go, you probably aren't trying to score. Especially if you are a run-first, defensive kind of team.

I wonder how effective they were in the 2 minute offense when they needed a score (i.e. down 10 or less). If there was a stat for that, then I could put some stock into it.

EDIT: There are also times where a FG is all you need

^ Furthermore, I'd like to know if their 2-minute drives were mostly successful, but resulted in FGs rather than punching it in the endzone. In other words, how many 2-minute drill attempts did they have, and were they producing any points at all in those attempts?

Just watched the presser where he said that. Sounds like he was talking about the organizational aspect of the two minute drills (i.e. no delay of games, getting the LOS quickly, etc etc) rather than the actual results.

I'm shocked that Rex was talking someone up about something they didn't deserve.

This is what pisses me off more than anything. Don't come to me with the argument of "well, what is he supposed to say?" Uh, how about not saying a team that's been mediocre at best has been the best at anything over the last several years. This is where Rex needs to just keep his trap shut. Like come on man, it wouldn't even take looking up a stat of how they did in a 2 minute offense. Common sense would raise eyebrows about calling the Dolphins tops in the league in the 2 min drill.

Like if I heard him say that, first thing I would think is, "Hmm, really? That's a peculiar stat being that the team was pretty garbage for his time there." How about that, turns out they were completely garbage at the 2 min drill. Come on Rex, don't be an asshole.

    I just did the math. That's 11 TD's and 23 FG's in 145 drives. That's 23.4% scoring average. If I were a Jet fan, I'd be worried.

  18. Please. Completely different team, offense,QB,philosophy & city. Sure maybe it grows into a team weakness, but absolutely no conclussions can be reached at this time. Try again.

I'd be more worried about the Bills lack of depth all over their roster.

  19. Are you living in a bubble? Do you have any idea the Litigious society we are living in right now? Have you seen the way the media blows every little thing the Jets do or don't do out of proportion?!

In many cases the Jets have to lie or ignore the facts in front of them to protect themselves from out of control PR situations or even legal exposure.

All you can do is take things with a grain of salt.Just like every other team in the NFL, Whether you like it or not the jets are a business entity with significant assets that are put at risk daily.
