They Jets team webpage had a link to a daily news article about Parcells willingness to trade out of the #1 spot. When I clicked on it though, it was about the FA signings on the OL. It's a good read, with links to some very telling OL stats.

    Here's the link:

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!

Nice piece, thanks for posting it. I'm looking forward to seeing this new o-line in action.

    Good article.
Faneca was clearly the best signing this off season IMO, and should prove worth every cent.
Woody will also have an impact. He was paid more than his play warrants, but the Jets were hard pressed for a player like him. His versatility on the oline will be his biggest asset to the team, should any injuries arise.
Look for the Jets to draft a RT as well, completing this line with a mix of talent, depth, experience, and versatility.

Indeed, some very useful signings. It will payoff its dividents in the longrun. We have invested a lot of money in this off season. We have to get rid of DRob, otherwise we wont have the cap necessary to sign the draft picks. Drob wont be there more than one more season. CP, as much as I like him, has no more than 2 years left with the Jets. Our O-Line is fixed for the next 5 years to come. In the mean time we should be able to find a good fix for Faneca and Woody. Once we find two more good O-Line after five years, it will be fixed for another 5 years atleast. So in the next 10 years, we just need two solid players. The rest of the time can be spent of the remaining offense and defense. Revis, Harris, Jenkins, Pace and maye even Gholston will fix the defense for the next few years.

All we need now is a primetime reciever and a QB. We need to draft a first round QB. Clemens and CP are not the answer to long run. Maybe next year, we'll draft a QB. We may draft Flacco or Brohm this year and groom them over the next two years. Maybe trade for B.Quinn if it seems good.

Cotchery should become our No.1 this year, atleast as far as receptions and yards are concerned. He was our no.1 last year. I predict him to be the next Reggie Wayne. He has an unbelievable YAC ability.

So I think the Jets have taken steps towards a brighter future.

i agree with most of what you said...however, i do not think you can pass judgment on clemens after seeing him play the last season under those conditions, and i also do not think we should use either of our first day picks on a qb.

Woody could end up being valuable as well if we get a starting RT and he can move back to his natural position of RG. He is a big guy who can do a lot of damage at the guard position.
