This would make me VERY happy... Jets Offense - TM - Jets Ex-Chiefs coach Todd Haley is reportedly meeting with the Jets on Wednesday. It looks like last week's reports of Haley and ex-Dolphins coach Tony Sparano joining forces could come to fruition with the Jets. Spranano would be offensive coordinator in charge of the running game while Haley would take over as passing game coordinator and assistant head coach. Haley spent six seasons with the Jets under Bill Parcells early in his coaching career. Related: Dolphins, Chiefs Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Jan 11 - 8:20 AM www.rotoworld.com
what is really funny is that the Jets finally got rid of Schottenheimer and yet, SOJFs remain unhappy, whining and bitter
You sound like a lot of Texans fans when they were hiring Humpty Dumpty after he got canned by Jerry Jones. Enough of the knee-jerk retardation.
I had a feeling this might come to fruition, including the assistant head coach title, similar to Callahan. Before the game against KC this season, Haley spoke affectionately about his time in NY. Say what you will about him as a head coach...but he is a damn fine offensive mind and was one of the best WR coaches in football before further promotions. Discipline will NOT be a problem w. Holmes if Haley were to come on board. This would leave offensive line coach as the lone remaining vacancy. the 2 obvious options would be: 1.Mike Devlin- Currently he's the jets Tight end coach, but before that promotion he spent 3 years as the assistant O-line coach. He knows the personnel up front well. This would mean bringing in a new TE coach, which maybe something rex considers, given the radical changes to the overall scheme that will likely be in store. 2.Dave DeGuglielmo- I'm not sure if he's still under contract with Miami, but Sparano may want "His guy" running the O-line. I remain on record that despite what Miami fans tell you, since Sparano was in South Florida they have had the best straight ahead power running game in the NFL. It maybe best to trust him on choosing "his guy" at "his position". *Edit- QB coach is also vacant. Maybe Hue Jackson wants to come aboard
This would be a definite win if we got both of them..one can handle the 2 TE/running game and the other the passing game.
I'm going on record as saying that this is an awful idea. Haley is a control freak and a world class jackass, and I have serious doubts about whether he can work as a co-coordinator.
Obviously that hierarchy will be figured out in the preseason. This could be a concern about getting plays in on time though. More delay of games, I'm anticipating.
I doubt that will be the titles. This will be very similar to: Schotty- OC/Playcaller/ runs passing game Callahan- Assistant HC/O-line/runs running game ---------------------------------------------- Sparano- OC/Playcaller/Runs running game Haley- Assistant HC/WR/Runs passing game
