They took a pounding from the Red Sox this weekend and showed as much fire as Lindsey Lohan at an AA meeting.
It didnt even look like they were trying.
Ozzie should be ashamed of himself for letting his team get this way and Ken Williams should be ashamed of not firing Ozzie and signing all these rejects to incredible extensions that will destroy this team for the next few years.
Where is Bud to make sure that all teams are still trying instead of making offseason plans?

The same place he was when the Yankees were taking advantage of similar teams and dealt for Neagle and Mondesi, among others in past years.

It's so sad, in a pathetic way, how the White Sox are in dead last, behind the Kansas City Royals. I mean, it was a different team then, but the White Sox were World Series Champs only 2 years ago.

Neagle & mondesi? yeah we sure took advantage w/ nagle's 7-7 record and 5.81 ERA(he had an almost 4 ERA in the NL by the way) and then weacquiredMondesi and his .224 BA giving up a decent player in dave Dellucci in return. Bud surely should have stepped in when we fleeced cincy and and Ari:rofl:

A combination of injuries and an inept bullpen gave them little hope this year. Still, I agree. Ozzie should be ashamed of himself at the way that team has quit. He should doing more than just providing cutesy quotes for the 11:00 news.

Leave it to a Mets fan to not get the point.......
If you were able to watch any of the Sox/Sox series this weekend you would understand what I was trying to say.

I responded to a very specific portion of your post.

You are crying because the poor Yankess didn't get help from the quittin' ChiSox. But you don't mind it when the Yankess make deals with teams that have quit.

Far be it for me to defend a Yankee point, but I really didn't take this thread as whining about Chicago handing four games to Boston. I took it more as a commentary about how the ChiSox have just plain quit, and how that's an embarrassment to baseball.

Having said that, the scores over the weekend were, I think, deceiving. If you can take a four-run lead into the sixth, Chicago has the perfect bullpen to turn that four into an eight without much effort.

Thanks Sj. That was exactly the way it was intended. Maybe I did focus on the Sox/Sox series a bit more than normal because it did effect the Yankees but what I saw on the field from the White Sox disgusted me and it all starts with Ozzie.
Like you said Sj, He is more concerned with his quotes then the way the team has played.
Williams giving Dye that extension was absurd. I can understand Buehrle but now in retrospect, he should have been traded because this year is shot and because of the money tied to players they next few as well.
Talk about a quick fall from grace.

Yeah, Williams and Guillen did do a bad job this year.
I don't think Selig has to do anything, though.

Yeah, other teams do, too. I never wrote this was something only the Yankees do.

And this has nothing to do with the Mets.
