My question is what, if any, impact will the recent success of the Jets have on free agency. As a fan, certainly I am aware of the SOJ mentality which has been pervasive over the past decade or so.

Have NFL players held the same sentiments? I can recall Ty Law, when he was with the Jets stating that as a Patriot, he and his teammates always felt that the Jets would find a way to lose games when they played.

I believe the SOJ curse has finally be lifted by a new head coach, hopefully a new and lasting culture within the team and this playoff run. So will players' perception of the Jets as a team and organization change, making them more willing to play, or actually prefer to play for the Jets? Do you think that there are any free agants who would now prefer to become a Jet?

It's a myth that players will not go to a team that they think is likely to lose. There are a few players that is true of, but those players are so valuable that they never hit free agency.

The only players that actually can really pick and choose their destinations are the top 10% of the talent pool. Everybody else is getting an offer or three and sorting it out from there.

We should have no problem bringing people in, we are now a winning team, have a winning culture, great locker room, and a coach players love to play for.

Let's just hope we are allowed to sign at least one big name FA.

I think Rex Ryans mentality is going to make defensive players DEFINITELY want to come to NY.

Cant say I can imagine any WRs wanting to come here though

It doesn't matter who wants to be a Jet for next season, we'd have to lose someone big for a huge deal to be able to bring in someone big.

However, if the CBA gets resolved before next season, then the Jets are going to be able to sign whoever they want.

I wonder if Antoine Winfield would consider coming back now? I think that his wife sold him on the "Mall of America" over "Roosevelt Field."

There's a thread on this already. We cannot sign any UFAs unless they were cut by their team or played for us this season. All the guys due for UFA status and a big payday are off limits. Furthermore, any cut players we sign have to replace a FA we lost and have to have a similar contract to the new one signed by that lost player.

As far a Free Agency goes, I really don't know what will happen. However, because of the coaching staff, you can expect to see a lot of Undrafted Free Agents wanting to come here. More so on the Defensive side of the ball. Similar to how Westerman passed up Pittsburgh and a few other teams, just because Rex was coaching here. If you're an Undrafted Free Agent, and you play Defense, I can officially say with pride that the New York Jets are your dream team! Wow... That feels good.
